Could someone possibly explain to me how to put it in step by step?

I'll try and be helpful, as most 35mm manual cameras load film the same way. (Hopefully you haven't got a Leica, for that make is the exception to the general rule). If you aren't referring to a 35mm, you will need to be specific.

Open the back. There should be a catch somewhere on the end away from the hinge. There will be a film chamber. You may need to raise the knob on the top plate above this chamber. Put the cassette in the chamber with the leader facing the other end of the camera. Pull leader across and insert into socket on take up reel. or under any catch there may be for it. Wind the advance lever (having pushed down the knob referred to above) ensuring the film is properly caught and is advancing. Close the back. Advance the film a couple of times until the film counter is opposite '1'
