I am unattached to my beliefs, and I know that what is "truth" for me is not "truth" for others as "truth" is relative.

One has many believes than there are stars in the sky. For a long time, I believed that I was stupid and didn't do throughout my school years. My abusive father would always tell me that as well as other lies.
When in my early 40's I went to a community college, and later transferred to USC and graduated. This was a wonderful accomplishment in that I had a husband and four daughters to care for. I was the first in the family to have a college degree. This leaves me to believe that I don't want to be left toothless or truth less.

I did, and it was a very difficult process to get through. But now that I am an Atheist, I am open to new discoveries.
All I need is measurable, tested data, and I am more than willing to give up my Atheist beliefs.
When I was a Christian, however, it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I believe that the reason for this is in the way religion is attached to a believers sense of self worth and purpose in life.
It is terrible

If I was given sufficient evidence, I would accept that I was wrong. I don't suspect that will happen, but I'm not going to dogmatically deny something that has been proven to be true. Where that would leave me would depend upon the truth I am shown. If the truth is that humans live in the matrix, that would leave me in a completely different place than if Apollo magically happened to exist.

I'm pretty much attached. If I found out that my beliefs were all a hoax, I would find solace in knowing that I didn't spend my entire life creating misery for others.

We only discover the truth by realizing what is false---we know the Bible is false when it claims the Earth in flat & standing on Pillars as the Book of Samuel asserts---so uncovering the false should be our sole aim.

"the Truth"? According to who? If there was a "Truth" I would most definitely change my beliefs to it.

Probably depressed and full of questions. I read things every now and again that make me really wonder, but something always leads me back into believing just like I did before I read it.

As a believer my believes are based upon the divine commandments. I don't concoct my believes. Therefore I do not fear about my believes turning false.
