The only Authority a Pope has is in the minds of his followers.

The Authority of an Apostle is just under Jesus Christ for the Church.

If you want to gain info on the Apostles position in the body of Christ, go to my friends area ( Casandra ) and read her last blog post.

Good question !!!

As all Catholic bishops are even from the 1st century all apostles as their direct successors and Peter was the first pope and head of the apostles, the pope has more authority. This is exampled by John giving Peter first place in entering Jesus' empty tomb even though he got there first. No deceased pope or apostle not even the gospel apostles have any authority now. They are retired no longer working but simply enjoying God's glory. Hope you make it soon.Maybe tomorrow...If not get ready, to avoid last minute flight complications such as repentance hassles and trying to quickly find a nice clean white garment of holiness and purity required for the wedding banquet.

It depends. Authority over what? If you mean authority given by God, then I think the apostles do, since they have been given the keys of the Priesthood, and can act in the name of God.

The pope has authority over the Catholic church. That means different things then the apostles, so they aren't really equal, or the same at all.

This is a trick question.

The Pope and his fellow bishops are the Apostles of today, the direct successors of the original Apostles.

Just as the eleven faithful Apostles selected one to replace Judas Iscariot. The Apostles (bishops) have continued to select successors for almost 2,000 years.

With love in Christ.

An Apostle has the authority to serve the people in Jesus name.

The Pope has the authority of his church.

I don't see a correlation between them; two separate things.

No question, God, then Jesus Christ, then 12 apostles. The Pope is an earthly position and not mentioned anywhere in the bible. It is a position created by man. Don't get me wrong. Most are very exceptional people. God wants most of all the good people in heaven, so there you go.

God Almighty has all of the authority.

Apostles, Popes, Pastors and men alike should serve God just as the Son Jesus Christ served His Father.

God bless you.
