THe odds are somewhat against April 17 being the exact day, but the odds of Dec 25th or 26th beign the right day are astronomically slim!

Jesus was likely born in the springtime.

I do not believe He was born in Dec 26, (nor 25 or 24), nor any other winter date. That date was choosen long ago.
I'm not sure if He was born in April 17, He may have born during August or September.

But, I have no problems to celebrate it in December.

Its rather doubtful that he was born in December or January. Probably between March and May. But how did you get the date of April 17?

No one really knows when Jesus was born.

Before I answer this question, I have to point out that you made a minor mistake here: Christmas is celebrated on December 25'Th, not the 26'Th.

Nobody knows what is the actual date for Our Dear Lord's Birth. It could have taken place any time throughout the year.

Trivia: Most Orthodox Churches(except for the Greek)celebrate Christmas on January 6'Th.

My son is a Christian, and he was taught that Jesus was actually born in September. He doesn't decorate his house with a tree or ornaments because he was taught that the balls on the tree symbolize something about the Sun Gods. I don't know anything about any of this, as I was raised Catholic and never heard anything like this growing up. But, everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinions.

If you are a protestant you are likely to think that believing something makes it true but it is rather the contrary one believes something because it is true not the other way round. The best way to get rich is to ask a protestant pastor to believe for you several million dollars em, no euros. So one may make a god to suit himself or herself accept those things that one finds agreeable, reject those publicly or privately that do not favour one or ones bank account or ones desire for sex with a woman that is not ones wife (henry the VIII) etc all these things make one seek the faith that suits one rather than the faith that s true
