It is allowed because of the hadith in the Qu'ran that says it is permissible to 'beat a woman lightly' so as to avoid injury. This patriarchal, oppressive medieval cult is about the subjugation of women. One has only to read the Qu'ran in which inheritance laws favour sons over widows, the rule of khulwa, the testimony of a woman in court is worth half the weight of a man's testimony and all the other examples of female oppression and subjugation. It is a vile cult and it's depressing to see ignorant, indoctrinated, brainwashed women defending it.

Violence is not allowed in Islam, it was not the way of the Prophets and so is not the way for their follower. Domestic abuse/violence is common in Muslim communities though, especially against females. As a Muslim female I have experienced it and seen it myself, no one speaks about it as it is culturally AND NOT religiously dishonorable.

why 'in the 21st century' is the cave dwelling practise of religion tolerated in modern society at all ??? you got to be a bit out of your box to believe in any kind of god in the first place. i suppose the only good thing to come out of western Christianity is the fact that at least we know where all the nutters are every Sunday. as for Islam. why would it surprise you?.....where ever there is Islam. there is hatred oppression and violence.

al hadis vol. 1 page215 the prophet said, no man shall be questionedfor beating his wife sura 4:34 tells men to beat their disobedient wives after warning them and sending them to beds apart;; bukhari vol. 7 book 62 # 132 the prophet said, no man should flog his wife as he flogs a slave and then have intercourse with her in the last part of the day.. they are to many like these to post them all. so why don't muslims post some of the words of their prophet of allah that tell about the way muslims women are to be treated??
