arrows are usually suppose to snap onto string but when i put on the arrows and pull back the string they just fall off.

is it the arrows or the bow string?

I noticed that in my old bow their was the wire but towards the mddle their was a point where it looked like somone rapped string tightly around it and it got thicker?

cause all the wire looks the same in my new one.

and when I put the arrows on they can like easily slip along the wire?

what do I do?

I'm not hunting.

I'm shooting a target in my backyard.

hi there
sounds like your nock serving has come off, you will have to take it to a bow shop and have another one wound on, or buy a new bow string for your bow the serving will come with it in place, you loose about 30 thou on the string thickness that's why your arrows are not staying on.good shooting.

You need to have a serving put on your string. Any pro shop can do this at a small charge. Serving is simply a wrap of tuff string like material added to the string in the area of where you knock your arrow on the string. Also have them put on a brass knock to aid you in placing the arrow on the string in the same place each time. This is needed or you will never be accurate and consistant with your shooting. Good luck and good shooting!!

sounds like your bow string is a different (smaller size) than a normal bowstring. Either that or your nocks have worn out. But since you said you changed bows, I'm betting that your new one doesn't have the area where they nock wrapped with the string protector. Just have the local archery shop take a look to be certain. The fix is cheap.

I would take this bow in. Soundds like it could use a little maintainence and you could use a little expert advise. Remember there is a lot of tension on that bowstring and it can be extremely dangerous if that snaps at full draw. Have a experienced smith take a look at your bow and show you how to take care of your string and bow. Have fun and enjoy shooting!!
