I make ringtones for my own phone, I have the Motorola Razor. What I had to do was buy the data cable and the Motorola Phone tools software for the computer. It picks up the phone on the computer and allows me to transfer the phone book, pictures, and music.

To make the music I use Magix MP3 Maker 10. It allows you to view the songs and cut them to whatever you want. So a 3 min song can be turned into a 20 second song. And the software is only $20 if you can find it on sale!

From there you just transfer your clipped MP3 to the phone (you'll need to go to your provider for the data cable to usb) and once it's in the phone just go to your ringtones and browse your music files.

Viola, you now have a customer ringtone.

Mobile phones for the past few years allow you to use your mp3s as ringtones. So if your phone is a few years old, chances are it can do it too. Find a way to get you mp3 on the phone, either by bluetooth, infra red or cable, depending on what capabilities your phone has. Once you have your mp3 on your phone, you should be able to get the options of setting it as your ringtone. Good luck.

You can use your own music from your PC as ringtones, install this software from http://www.ifunpix.com on your PC and start downloading music to your mobile phone and PDA directly from your PC using it's WAP interface. You don't need bluetooth device, sync cable or to be at home at all. Your entire music collection is available to you from anywhere, that way you don't even need a big memory card on your phone because you can download anytime.

first of all you will need to know the file type that your cell phone ring tones are (.mov, .wav, .mp3) there are lots of formats you can use for music. once you know the format find out what format the music you want to convert into a ring tone is. now for example if you want to convert a .mp3 file to .wav i would go online and do a search for "download .mp3 to .wav converter" and you should might be able to find some software to help you accomplish this. once you have the right format you can probably just upload it to your phone via usb or mini sd card depending on how your connect your computer to your cell phone. enjoy
