1- after a women becomes a widow, she must wear white the rest of her life and cant marry. either tht or she is burned with her husband ALIVE.
2- after a woman becomes a widow, she MAY OR MAY NOT remarry, depending on wat she wants to do. she may wear any color, no restrictions. she may own bussiness's, run offices, etc.

neither of them have anything to do with teaching of quran or sunnah. These are idiotic rules made by human beings.
our prophet's first marriage was at the age of 25, when he (p.b.u.h) married a 45 year old widow, and this marriage continued for decades until his wife passed away.
Islam encourages marriages with widown, which was forbidden at that time.
White is a general good colour even liked by prophet for himself.

Respectfully,
A woman under religion number 2 can be publicly humiliated if her veil slips. She can have acid thrown on her for dressing "improperly." Her husband can marry several women after her. And can divorce her with a word.
No *culture* has yet been very fair to women. But let's not confuse culture with religion.
