1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.
However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience, we all inherited the sin nature. We are all sinners. Any of us can be homosexuals, murders, fornicators, thieves, adulterers, gossipers, addicts, gluttons or liars. Probably even more than one of those. We all posses this sin nature, which causes us all to be born separated from God and do the things that He has told us not to do for our own good.
God's written Word, the Bible teaches that Jesus came to the earth for the purpose of becoming the blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Those of us who will choose Him as our Lord and Savior and repent (which means to turn away from sin), will be given the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life with God. When we choose Jesus, God declares us blameless. This is called justification (just as if I’d never sinned) .
God doesn't want anyone to be lost. He loves us so much even though we are born sinners. He has provided Jesus’ sacrifice for us while we are still sinners.
Not choosing Jesus is the only way that we remain separated from God. After choosing Jesus as our Lord and Savior, It is then, our job to stay filled with the Holy Spirit that He has given to Christians (those who have accepted Jesus) for the help we need to obey Him.
God sanctifies us which means He makes us holy. Sanctification is living every day in light of who we are in Christ. It is practiced purity which is a challenge, especially in the culture in which we live.
Prayer, submitting and obedience is what God has ask us to do for our benefit.
Turning our backs on sin and coming to Jesus for love, leadership and forgiveness is the way to have a better life here, a renewed relationship with God and the promise of Heaven. The only way.

That depends what you mean by "CAN".
"CAN" as in "may", as if God gives His permission?
------- OR--------
"CAN" as in "able to perform an action"?
The Bible clearly states that homosexual sex is wrong (See Romans 1).
However, the Bible also teaches that lying is sin, stealing is sin, heterosexual sex outside of marriage is sin (Romans 14:22-23), in fact it even says that whatever is not of faith is sin.
So, can a Christian steal? Yes, but when they do they are sinning and need to repent.
Can a Christian lie? Yes, but when they do they are sinning and need to repent.
Can a Christian engage in heterosexual sex outside of marriage? Yes, but when they do they are sinning and need to repent.
Can a Christian do other things that are of faith? Yes, but when they do they are sinning and need to repent.
Can a Christian have a tendency toward homosexuality, be tempted to participate in it? Yes
Can a Christian commit homosexual sex? Yes, but when they do they are sinning and need to repent.
Understand I am not saying it is RIGHT for a Christian to do these things.
I am NOT saying they "can" in the sense that God has said it is okay, He has clearly said it is not.
What I am saying it is still possible for a Christian to sin, and when they do, they must repent.
P.S.
I really wish people wouldn't use the "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" argument. It sounds so stupid. There are better arguments in Scripture than that.

(i.e.: somebody whose thought is that homosexuality is a sin punishable by employing loss of life ought to nevertheless be charged with homicide ought to he flow out and homicide homosexuals.) Paul pronounced it, too: Romans a million:26-32 interior the comparable section, Paul additionally recommends loss of life for people who're disobedient to their mothers and fathers, liars, the ignorant, boasters, and the proud. Paul grew to become into additionally against marriage, confident he primary it, grudgingly, even though it wasn't something that a Christian ought to do till there grew to become into no different determination. All in all, i could quite hear to Jesus, who a minimum of under pressure forgiveness and tolerence.

Well if you read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah (where there was a lot of gay things going on) God destroyed both cities with fire.....the Bible also says that it is not natural.
Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."
Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."
1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals1, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

It really depends on which version of the Bible you are quoting. The original texts in Aramaic and Hebrew have nothing written about homosexuality. The translation to Latin has a few, but most of the passages are taken from the King James version, which is the latest version. So if you believe you can update the Bible to better serve society than you can believe that it is a sin yes. But the original texts do not support this at all.
I should also point out the fact that King James was recorded as being a total bigot.

2 Timothy 3:2 & 3a For men shall be lovers of their ownselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection. Gen 19:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. These men who wanted to know them were smited with blindness in vrs.11. Romans 1:22, 24, 27 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hears, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And like wise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in them selves that recompense of their error which was meet. Jude 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the citis abouth in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengence of eternal fire. There are people out there that say they are Christians and live the homosexual life. That is not what God had intended. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. God wanted man and woman to be together for ever.
