Te quiero is the most common way for Spanish-speakers, hardly anyone (in real life) uses te amo.

I know how to say '' I love you'' In many many languages. Since you want to know how to say '' I love you'' in Spanish, I will tell you how to say it in Spanish. When you want to say ''I love you'' to someone, say'' Yo te amo'' That is how you say I love you in Spanish.
Or if you want you can say'' Yo te quiero.''

Te quiero, literally meaning "I want you"... I think "te amo" is more italian (ti amo)... There is no need for 'yo'...
