You know, 15 years ago highlighted hair was all the rage. I'm 42 and am so sick and tired of attractive and unattractive girls doing stuff to their hair. Just let it be natural, and believe it or not, you will be different and to a lot of people now, not boring. Leave the color as it is, if it needs trimmed or something else, go ahead, but don't mess with the natural beauty that you already have.

I didnt read the whole thing but I'm just gonna answer the basic question/title. I have used the lightest blonde box dye found in drug stores and i got the results of dark ish brown hair. A noticeable dark brown not the dark brown that only shows in the light. If you end up having orange hair just shampoo and condition your hair avoiding color shield shampoo and conditioners. The orange will fade away In a few weeks. Using 1 box dye didn't damage my hair at all so you don't need to worry about that. I hope this helps ^_^

im a stylist and i tell all my first time colors to go more natural in case you hate it. depending on your skin tone. If youre darker complected and/or african american you want to stay in the dark mohogany to deep red tones and if your lighter complected go with the light brown to carmel colors. If youre wanting crazy vibrant colors keep in mind that on jet black hair you will have to pre lighten what you want to be colored and a lot of the times the vibrant color doesnt stay in the hair more than about 10-12 shampoos and you will end up with blondish streaks and with jet black hair i do not recommend going really blonde. i hope that helps! good luck!
