Do you really believe he died for our sins?

OK so you believe God died.

Your honour, I rest my case against Christianity.

I guess you are Moslem and it is a question that I have often debated with my friends from Islam.
The belief that 'Jesus was God', and the belief in the Holy Trinity, arose after a very long debate about the best way to express the truth that Jesus perfectly reveals God. Jesus is to a Christian the word of God as the Qu'ran is to a Moslems. We believe that there is such a perfect understanding between Jesus and God so that it is not overstating the case to say that Jesus is God or even that Jesus is the Son of God.
We believe that 'For our sake Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilate.' That is as far as the Church Father at Nicene would go. They didn't unpack the theory of atonement and I think they were wise not to try!

shaybani,

Jesus died and then was raised from the dead, so He is not dead, He is ressurected. If that is your sole case against Christianity, it is very week. God has control over all, even death, so He can die and be ressurected if He so chooses.

And A2Z, I've seen you post about this before. Why don't you post your question under a separate title. In your own words, no cutting and pasting please, and links only for reference, not as an answer. I ask this because you cut and paste from a site that has the issue you want to discuss, but it's full of circular references. The gist of your arguement, as I see it, is that Christ did not give "Christianity" it's name, nor is the name Christianity mentioned in scripture, so therefore how is it possible that Christ founded Christainity? The arguement is weeker than the arguement above, and we can discuss in more detail on a different thread.

Excellent! I was raised Christian, and i still believe in God but can't really call myself Christian anymore. Yes, Jesus died for my sins. He was a child of God, not God himself, except in the sense that we are all, combined, God. The word "Christian" is based on the silly mistake that "Christ" is a name, and it isn't. It's another word for Messiah, and even if he was the predicted Messiah, i am not Jewish so it has nothing to do with ME.

Poopsie, the Name of God was never really spelled out, since Hebrew has no vowels. "Jehovah" is not the original pronunciation because Hebrew has no sound like the English "J," and it is a matter of respect that the original pronunciation is not said. (BTW, "Allah" is another valid interpretation for that pronunciation.) I don't call God by his name for much the same reason i don't call my dad by HIS given name. God also gave his name as "I-Am-That-I-Am" and "Tell them that I AM sent You." So why doesn't anybody call him I Am?

Jesus came to save the whole world meaning the entire humanity. What you should do is to believe with all your hearts, minds, soul and strength. So as long as you live you have to believe with sincerity. Christianity is not just a religion but a relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ. You have to believe in One God with three distinct personalities. God the Father who gives us the Ten Commandments. Jesus His Son who taught us how to obey the Ten Commandments. Jesus is now in heaven after He was raised from the dead and sits at the right hand of God the Father. Soon He will come back to take us all who obey and follow Him. The Holy Spirit is within each believer. He is the seal of God to those who sincerely believe in Jesus. He teaches, guides and control each believer's life and follow God's commands. He will prepare each believer to meet Jesus at His Second Coming. I suggest that you should pray to God asking Him to give you the Holy Spirit so you can understand His will in your life. Luke 11:13 If you then though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!.

I am a Christian so that answers your question. Yes I believe that Jesus Christ the King of King's the Great I am is God in the Flesh. He is the Ancient of Days and he was sent to Earth to offer everyone a path to salvation. It's a choice.

Yes I do. Just look around you and see the beauty that God created. If Adam and Eve didn't sin then Jesus would not have had to come down here for our sins. God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for all of us. It is hard to describe, but you have to have faith. It is so important to have faith. He is awesome, holy, and just. We can never work our way to heaven, but we can accept Him as our personnel Savior and He will take us to heaven with Him. It is just that simple, but people want to make it hard. God loves the sinner, but hates the sin. He is there through thick and thin. He is there in the good times as well as the bad times. When we are going through bad times that is when we draw closer to Him.

1) Yes
2) Yes

Thanks for asking. Happy New Year to You and Yours.

Edit,
Your Honour,

God doesn't and didn't die. The body is the part which died not God. "And he rose on the third day".

dear shaybani_yusuf, no compulsion in religion. Do you know what that means! it means live and let live, it means not all people are going to believe the same as everyone or you, it also means if they don't let them be. You know who said that! look it up.

I rest my post, nothing against anyone. Peace Be Upon All of You.
God Bless

The bible says that he was God's only begotten son......It also mentions that people looked at him as a god(lowercase "g") because he could do the things that no other human could do, such as healing and performing miracles. But he was infact God's(Jehovah[Psalms 83:18...That people may know that you whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the most high)(capital "G")son. God's name was in the bible in the beginning until people started taking it out for some unknown reason. If you date back to the king james bible you will see. In order to come to know someone it would make sense for you to know there name so it makes absolutely no sense to take his name out the bible and replace it with titles such as Lord,God, I am that i Am.....so on and so forth.
And yes i believe he died for our sins.....he had no other reason to die. He was put to death by his own people who said he was not what he said he was even tho they had plenty of proof in front of him. The Jews were later rejected by Jehovah God. When the soldiers were around Jesus the night he died, They said that what happened that night they were truly convinced that he had to be God's son
