Cause its not a real church. When you become a member at a church, you don't sign a document binding you to that church. The church I go to only has you come up in front of the congregation to be recognized as a member. Then the Pastor always says, in short, if you feel God is telling you to go to another church, then you should do just that.

Don't sign it. It will just turn into headaches for you.

Some churches feel like you need to be a member to be more active and they feel it makes you feel more a part of their church family..kind of like being on the inside of all the desiscions and if you are a member you will have more of a say in the way the church is being run.
