Look to the bible and prove where there is eternal torment .You accuse God of something he says that never come up into his mind.Start with the fact that death brings you to the common grave[hell.] You have no consciencous thoughts 'feel nothing,[the wages of sin is death] so youve paid your debt for your sins and are awaiting resurrection. Some will be resurrected for judgement. Why would he have a place for torment when he states he loves us and want to give us the earth that [will endure and the meek shall reside on it forever].If I had to serve because I was scared of hell I would simply live my life to its finish and not recognise a God of hate and torture.God is love He proved that by giving his son to make a new path to him for us,what more does he have to do to show his love.He provides air to breath.water ,sunlightfor the righteous and the unrighteous.

Eternal torment would not be just. (It would be even worse than what Bush is pursuing) and it does not and will not exist. Almighty YHVH will do the most generous thing He can. If you refuse to accept His gift of life, and choose to remain in your sins, you will be burned with them in the fires that purify the earth, so He can make all things new, and very good.

Dan S and Excited are right. But your question does not logically follow your statement. Punishment for sin, (breaking God's law) is just, but neither I nor God love the punishment. In fact, God desires that none should perish, and is longsuffering toward us in the hope that we will come to repentance.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Our actions have consequences and God will hold each one of us accountable for how well we have kept His commandments. The wages of sin are death and all of us have sinned; there are none of us who are righteous. That is precisely why Jesus died on the cross -- to pay the penalty for our sins, so that by repenting of them and putting our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we may be forgiven. Those who sin and refuse to repent and accept God's offer of salvation will face a Christless eternity in the lake of fire, for eternity. Knowing that to be true does not mean that I love the fact that so many people will refuse to repent and accept Christ.

No. The Bible says one who dies is acquitted of his sin. There is no literal eternal torment. Death is the ultimate price one pays.

God in His LOVE has done everything necessary to redeem man. His justice requires that He punish sin, but His love provides salvation freely for all who will accept it. Those in hell are there becasue they refused or ignored God's love; they are SOLELY responsible for their condition.
