so me and my bf were having this debate last nite, i say men cheat because of the physical, because they arent getting what they want physically from their gf or they just want more of what they already have, and i say that women cheat because we arent getting something emotionally from a bf (and sometimes physically), he disagrees saying that men cheat because of the same reason women cheat. so my question is: why do you guys and gals think men and women cheat?

You are both right. Women cheat because they need something emotionally or physically that they are not getting from their man. Me cheat for exactly the same reasons. Also, when you are with the same person for a long time it becomes mundane to be with the same person day after day. Cheating has an element of danger and excitement.
If anyone is thinking about cheating may I suggest the following:
Meet your significant other at a bar. Wear clothing that they wouldn't normally see you in. And begin the role-play of letting him/her pick you up from the bar. Treat the night like a one night stand. I think you will find that it is the best one night stand you have ever had! Have fun!

Well it could be that we all have low self esteem and we need not just 1 person to make us feel special. We cheat to have that feeling of being needed from many ppl. Also, having sex is just great and sometimes we just cant turn down sex from a person we find very attractive. Another reason is that we think we will not get caught and no one will ever find out. There are many reasons. Depends on the person cheating i guess.

Both sides cheat for the same reason..
Because they aren't getting attention from their partner.
Women will say " He didn't meet my emotional needs"
Men will say" She doesn't understand me"
Both are the same thing. Most people are so wrapped up in themselves, that they don't think about their partners.
It's the reason men go to titty-bars. Not to see half-naked women, but because as long as they keep tipping, the girls rub up against them and laugh at their jokes.....
At home, all the wife says is "take out the trash, and then sit here and let me rattle on about how bad my day was...."

30 yr old woman.........i honestly don't think there is always a reason we cheat.....cheating is almost like exploring,,,,it's done sometimes out of curiosity,if that makes any sense. It's not always to hurt another person or to be deceitful. Then unfortunately you may get caught up in what you've done making it ongoing.ex..like drugs people don't use them to become addicted purposely. When there are "reasons" their usually emotional or physical-i've had friends who said they did it because of looks,because he did it 1st - even because it wasn't enough at home, it really just depends

I think it depends on the situation and the person, no matter the gender. Men and women can both cheat for sexual gratification, and men and women can both cheat for emotional gratification. It can go either way but it really depends on the person and the circumstances.

i think that people cheat for the thrill. They no they shouldnt but the thought of being with someone else and still having that stable relationship at home is to tempting!
But on the other hand Ive cheated several time and that was because i like the experience of being with someone new, and feeling that spark of lust!

they cheat because;;
1) they aren't getting enough satisfaction from their loved one.
2) abuse in the past or present.
3) they're sexually tempted by someone else they met or saw.
4) they're drunk.
5) they were always around people who cheat (ex: parents)
6) they married someone for the money but they aren't satisfied so they go to someone who they actually like while they're getting all the money for the main loved one.

lack of love, respect, and loyalty for one another. I've never cheated, and I won't. If you're cheating, then you really don't care about being with the other person. Might as well end it.

really am proud to say that the woman i was yesterday made me see the woman i am today and that makes me very excited to see the i would be tomorrow.........it is like an attitude to both parties either to cheat or not......if i decide not to cheat and be commitment in our relationship all will be okay.
