but see, with Satan it is not about Love. With Satan, it is come and see all the cool stuff I have and all the cool stuff I can do.. and look at all the cool stuff you can do while you are here and hey -- don't worry about sin or guilt or pain or love or any of that stuff because none of it matters. The only thing that matters with Satan is his pride and as long as you are stroking it, then hey, no problems.
Satan doesn't love us... he just wants us to think that he loves us cause that is his pride.... he wants to "out do" god.

I think the atheists' answers are a lot funnier than the theists' answers on this one. =)
To the agape guy - so if God's love for us is unconditional, then why does hell exist? Whether the Jewish view of hell as a dark place, the Greek view of hell as an underworld, the middle ages' historical christian view of hell as a place of fire and brimstone, the fundamental (yet syncretist) christian view of hell as an underworld of fire and brimstone, or the modern christian view of hell as a shadowy "absence of God" (interesting how it all comes around full circle) the concept of a hell where eternal torment awaits is incompatible with a God that loves us unconditionally.
Unless, of course, you redefine unconditional to mean "unconditional except when He throws your a$$ in hell" which doesn't really mean unconditional, does it?
Me, I'd rather be a bum on the street. I only serve people worth serving.

I believe you fail to understand the term "unconditional" in it's proper context.
In the original greek text of the Bible, the word "agape" was used meaning a kind of love, which is a kind of love where God gives us love by grace, unmerited and undeserved love because of the sin we possess in the natural.
Mankind's love is conditional, God's love is unconditional. Just the same as we try to love our children unconditionally... then when they become excessively disobedient, and suddenly conditions are demanded or obedience is lost.
Where has the unconditional love of God gone then? it never left, only remaining when viewed from the proper perspective that God loved each of us equally when He gave unholy mankind a way through Jesus Christ to come back into his Holy presence.
When one understands the bible, everything God does makes sense... but not according to mankind's standards.

In christian theology which I assume you are referring to - you don't say - god is loving but demanding; satan is undemanding - he'll take anyone - but he has nothing but contempt for humans. So goes the story anyway - just to answer your question.

If there actually were a god and Satan, then I would definitely choose Satan (that is, if the Tormentists have it right).

If you knew what you were talking about you would know thats Satan is a liar and as long as you ask god for help and believe in him he will help and love you. I dont think thats too much to ask

it's not a matter of what 'sounds' better... if you know Satan then you know that whatever 'love' he gives you has consequencies and with God there are none... you give your heart and soul to God and He gives you all that you desire and need all He asks for is your devotion.... Satan takes away what he gives to you when you've served his needs.... you choose... and the fact that you asked this question is interesting in itself.... are you lost?
