Yes, actually that is how I was saved. Hard for me to trust people - so I went straight to the source. Am a Christian now. The people aren't perfect- but He is.

I actually have, a number of times. I grew up Mormon, so I grew up believing in Jesus and God and all that...
Let's see. I had a crisis of faith at 12-13, that ended my belief in the Mormon faith. By 17 any belief I might've had was gone and by 18 I considered myself an atheist for the first time. The personal details of my crying out are indeed personal, but I did, for a long time. Sometimes it was more like "why aren't you there" and sometimes it was more like "how could you do this?" God not answering you when you're in pain is a pretty tough blow, but it helps you grow up. I've had to rely on myself, and even though it's nearly killed me, even though I've nearly killed me, it's made me stronger.
I have spoken with God every now and then - every 8 or 14 months or so. It's a good way to address how I feel, possibly even therapeutic. It's good to step out of my shoes as an atheist and pretend I believe in something else for a little while - kinda like role-play. Just like how it's nice to pretend Santa really exists - if it makes someone happy, then a little pretending every now and then isn't too bad.
As far as God not existing, all the evidence I need is given to me by his believers - actions speak so, so, so much louder than words. Thanks guys!

I have; I am always open to spiritual revelation. I've not really gotten anything out of Jesus or The Bible though.
I believe this is because Christianity is simply not my path, that the Great Spirit speaks to us all in different ways depending on how we would relate to/understand it better.

I see no need to ask, since He has already done so fully in scripture.
You ask for something that has no basis, other than some kind of ecstatic experience which seems to be the goal in itself, not knowing Christ.

Sure, as a child. Nothing happened. So I went and found other answers outside the Church and haven't looked back.
(What's so bad about researching and forming my own opinions, rather than just accepting what your religion wants me to?)

Many times, genuinely but with objectivity. Nothing ever happened.
