All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

The tongue like a sharp knife... Kills without drawing blood.

These are just a few. Thanks for the time to share.

I also am in love with the ideals the buddhists have. I'm pretty sure everything that ever came out of Buddha's mouth was beautiful, but my favorite is: "What you think, you become." no truer words have ever been spoken, because if you think a certain way, that is what you become as a person.

Buddhist? I know a couple good Hindu quotes. Bunch of Christian quotes, and the dialogue from most of the original Star Trek TV show.....

But no Buddhist. Got any to share?

I have many, but here's a few gems. These are all from Buddha.

"When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky."

"Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace."

"Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely."

"Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little."

" The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings. "

My favorite is the 29th Zen Koan from "The Gateless Gate"

"Two monks were arguing about a flag. One said: `The flag is moving.'

The other said: `The wind is moving.'

The sixth patriach happened to be passing by. He told them: `Not the wind, not the flag; mind is moving'"

Breathing in I calm my body,
Breathing out I smile
Dwelling in the present moment
Knowing its a wonderful moment.
