As Mr. T says, “I pity da fool”
@ Gary D:
If you REALLY believe that then maybe you’d better read the WHOLE story of the “Walls of Jericho” . After that, try reading Numbers, chapter 25. Then tell my why Christ said to sell the shirt off of your back to get a sword.

I presume you are referring to soldiers of any worldly nation (like the U.S.) who voluntarily enlist, take an oath of allegiance and then travel thousands of miles away to burn, pillage and kill others, as well as die for, in the Name of their beloved government. Is that on par with the GOD you mention here? This would be referred to as a satanic or Anti-Christ regime. Yes, Satan is the "God" of this world who leads the whole world astray (Luke 4:6; John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4; 1st John 5:19; Rev.12:9). He's on the U.S. funny-money in the Great Seal of the United States and in the U.S. pledge of allegiance to a non-existent Republic. He's also referred to as the father of lies (John 8:44).
By contrast, the Kingdom of Heaven, a current and present reality which is NOT of this world, does NOT kill or maim others. Rather, its citizens suffer patiently; unto death if need be: but they do not return evil for evil. The only weapon permitted in this government is the Sword of Truth: His Word.
Maybe those who "profess" to be "Christians" should try it:

"How do you feel or what do you think?"
That's what I thought.

Everything that is written in the good book (which ever bible or book the religion is based off of) is interpreted by different people different ways, and some people take it literally.
It's dumb, because in some religions suicide is a sin and killing other people is too and this is what the people who are out there are doing.
It's understandable to be self-sacrificing, but only to a certain extent and in other ways not just death.

To kill for God is completely different than to die for God. I think to die for Him is a powerful testamony of faith.
In China during the early reign of communism the communists wanted to spread a message to the believers in Christ that their religion would not be tolerated. They filled a large buckett with urine took the Pastor of a congregation of 1000 people and drown him in it. A week later the church's attendance was doubled in size. Tertullian said, "The blood of the martyr's is the seed of the church.
Killing, if it is something man does in the name of God, completely misrepresents his character. Muslims might disagree, but then again, anyone who is outside of the house of peace is in the house of war. The Qu-ran is quite clear about that. Killing in the name of God caused some of the most horrific human travesties in all of history, in which Christians are just as guilty as Muslims(Crusades.)

I don't think its a good spiritual path but maybe it's just the spiritual path stupid ignorant less evolved people take. If I was going to kill someone (And I think about it way to much.) I'd kill someone for being stupid and less evolved than I am but then I think maybe I'm no better than they are. Something like 10,000 people die everyday. Stipid people smart people enlightened people. It would be nice to die a peaceful person.
Good question !

If there is one god, then why are there all these religions?
I dont think that any other religion has a book or bible that says to kill in the name of god. Sometimes I think that people twist things to fit their beliefs.
Why would god want you to kill anyone anyway? It seems more of a personal benefit for the group doing the killing.

Their concept of the value of life is far different than mine. I have no basis of their lack of desire for life. Starting with their own. Further anyone that knowingly trains someone in a belief system that allows them to martyr themselves in any form should be removed from open society.
I hold the trainers or teachers of this form of theology responsible for these deaths. To me the are like the Drug lords that never get touched but all that work for him are like expendable equity.

It depends on what they are dieing for.
Is it that they are willing to give up their life for the love of God and people or kill for the hate of a curtain sect or religion of people.

it's practically the basis of all religion. Religion is the root cause of most of the worlds problems. My god is better than your god causes more strife than politics, money, etc... If your beliefs make you a better person than regardless of what you believe that should be enough.
For one person to tell another what type of beliefs they should have is arrogant. No faction of religion that I have read of ever promotes arrogance. All religion is hypocracy. Being spiritual and being religious are two seperate things.

The Bible teaches us that many have and will die for their belief in GOD. But, JESUS, paid the debt for all men and told us to show love to all men. That rules out the killing part. JESUS went on to explain that GOD sees hate and insult as murder too.
