A miracle is something that can *only* happen with divine intervention. Alas (with the exception of the 1980 men's Olympic hockey team) there are no such things as miracles.

To what you attribute it.
"Miracles" are more than just coincidences. A coincidence is something that happens randomly. A "miracle" comes in two types, either something that happens as a coincidence but is attributed to a god or something, or an active search for anything matching some half-baked prediction.
If I pray for a cancer to go away and it goes away, there probably wasn't any connection between the two. However, human nature will strongly push for such a connection. We tend to attribute causality to proximity.
If I pray for financial relief and expect that some god will grant it, human nature will tend to make it seem to come true. On one hand, I may more actively look for financial relief and, therefore, have a better chance of getting it. Or I may get financial losses and gains like I always have, but because of my expectation, I'll notice when I happen to win some while ignoring when I lose some.

I agree with the above poster. Miracle is divine interference. It happens when you have lost all hopes, like the time when my seriously ill father was struggling for breath and inspite of doctors given up all hopes he came back for few more days. We all believe it was only to see my younger sister who was on her way all the way from Australia. After he came to, he only took her name and ate from her hands. That was no coincidence! It was a MIRACLE in our book!!!
Coincidence is just some everyday occurence like when we remember someone and we meet him/her suddenly out of blue...

In other words, Nondescript, if i pray for a miracle, this leads me to expect one, so i notice when it happens. So i have performed the miracle?
Excuse me if i thank God for that!

Absolutely none! Everybody has many opinions and most are wrong, unsupportable, ridiculous and complete nonsense.
The problem with what most of us believe is..we are afraid to put our misconceptions to the test of thinking things through.
Most of us hate actual facts and spend most of our lives in denial of reality which, if we made the attempt to find it, would be available to us with our current mental capacity.

A miracle would be if I woke up tomorrow with bigger breasts; a coincidence would be if I woke up with bigger breasts after praying the rosary.
