My dependant is 3 years of age. Half of 07 i was in school. I have a gross of 5000 and federal witholding of 300 how much will my return be.

With an income of $5000 you won't owe any federal income tax, so you should get the whole $300 back. You should also qualify for an Earned Income Credit of $1709. So your refund check should be slightly over $2000.
I am assuming here that your income was from a job where social security and medicare were taken out, and not from self-employment. I also assume that you are not a dependent of anyone like your parents - if you are a dependent, you won't get the EIC.
