It depends on whether they are hooked to the same pipes, of course, and what kind of water pressure there is. Generally the toilet is hooked to cold water pipes, so flushing the toilet might take away cold water from the shower. The person in the shower could be scalded.

In my house it took up most of the cold water pressure and so the shower became scalding hot. What toilet flushes with hot water? Modern shower fixtures can somehow tell when this is happening and automatically reduce the flow of hot water to match so that you don't get scalded. Of course this means that what used to be a bit of a drop in pressure becomes a big drop in water pressure.

Modern toilets - nothing. Older toilets - all the cold water gets channeled to the toilet so that the shower has only hot water. New toilets have a valve - so it doesn't happen.

It takes away the hot water in the shower and sends out pure cold. Not a very pleasant experience for the one taking a shower.

typically cold water for the person in the shower ... funny if you hear them scream, not so good if you're the one in the shower.

you need to ought to turn the lavatory water all the way off, then merely crack it slightly, which will make it take longer to fill yet ought to dodge the sizzling bathe! it rather is well worth a attempt.
