We can "capture" militants in Iraq, or "take them prisioner", but they are only able to "kidnap" our soldiers? has anyone else noticed this use of termonaligy, os is it just me?

They "kidnap" our troops because they make demands and in return say they will release the troops. We are a military force there to assist their government. We can take militants and jail them for many things, like setting up the roadside bombs. They are opposing us and we have the legal right to take them as prisoners, much better than having to kill them don't you think? They are willing to kill us so why do you have a problem with our capturing them?

When they "kidnap" someone, they make demands for their release, and if those demands are not met, the kidnapped person is usually executed. There are no rules for the treatment of those kidnapped.

Our military "captures" enemy combatants, and puts them in prison camps. There are no demands made for us to release them. There are rules that dictate the treatment of these prisoners (this is generalized, and I know some think the U.S. is not following these rules, but that is an issue for a different debate).

I agree. We capture muslim crazies. Soldiers are kidnapped. We are in Iraq at the request of the government. So, our soldiers have a right to be there. It would be the same if any Iraqi government official was kidnapped. That sort of behavior is against the law.

Because when the military take a prisoner they do not post

demands on the internet with threats to kill their prisoners, if the

demands are not met!!.

By the way, its you, you are stupid, but its probably not your fault.

Because we are a legal military organization. 3 people in a pick up with AK-47's are not. That is the difference...

dude, it's because the military is messed up. my dad was in Iraq for a year and beleive me, it's messed up. the whole government it actually, if you think about lawyers and the constitutional right to have a free lawyer who might be in cahoots with the gov. the American way is to be extremely hypocritical and self seeking; manifest destiny, the craze to expand our nation into other people's land BY FORCE in the nineteenth century is a good example of that.
keep on thinking brother, we need more thinkers in the world. ;-)
