I'm the girl who was talking about the ear infection so we called the doctor and I have an appointment but she reccomended puting tubes in mky ears and I'm 14 years old can anyone explain this to me???

the tubes are called grommets. these are tiny cylinders put into a surgically incised slit in the eardrum, if it hasn't ruptured yet, to relieve the pressure in the inner ear caused by accumulation of fluid and cellular debris during an inflammation. in case the ear has been draining some fluid, the grommet is inserted to further facilitate drainage. this is a standard procedure in relieving the pressure to prevent the occurrence of ruptured eardrums which could further predispose a person to subsequent ear infections. the grommet also facilitates the application of otic medications.

The Doctor will probably sedate you and insert tiny tubes through the ear drum. It allows the fluid that can collect in the inner ear to drain or evaporate.

Google EAR TUBES and plenty of sites come up that you can read and learn about it.
