I've noted that 9 questions about Jehovah's Witnesses have been removed over the last few days. A couple deserved to be removed and I've spotted one today (Thursday 27 Dec) that should be removed because it insults the intelligence of Jehovah's Witnesses. However, I am at a loss to understand why the question asked by 'Top Contributor' has disappeared. From what I can remember of the answers, it was an honest exchange of views. I've even written down my answer but I fail to see how anything I said could have broken community guidelines. What say you?

I've just broken my rule of never giving anyone a thumbs-down. Answerer no 3 you should be ashamed of yourself.

Thumbs up to no 12 - grnlow - yeah, me too, pal! I spent hours researching my answer. But you think it had nothing to do with JW's? Who else would have wanted the question (and more importantly) the answers removed?

Vot Anarx - I know we've crossed spiritual swords on several occasions but you get a thumbs up from me. Em, at the risk of being in breach of the community guidelines, might I refer to you (fondly) as 'What an Ark!' - I'm glad you're around.

Unslilenced Lioness - LOVE your new look! Way to go, girl! (Oops, probably breached another community guideline - will I ever learn?) Just chill out a little.

Thanks for the positive support. Now then, anyone got a good question to ask about predestination?

YES IN Deed - you're reported. aka (IAM)!!!H.E.AVENLy EYES; tHE AlterEgo; POPUP (AGAIN & AGAIN)!!; LARGE TRIANGLE; H.E.; tHE UNTOUCHABLES; SCP T...; Dr. SPHIL; Alex S; don SC; Dr (to name but eleven).

You mean I've just prevented myself from getting onto don sc's most intelligent hit list by exposing him? Well, that's quite ruined my evening. Sleep well, folks. Gird up your loins for tomorrow because I'm serious about that question on predestination. The truce ends at midnight (GMT, that is - the rest of you have 5 - 8 hours grace). Lovely to be in accord, for once!

2007-12-27 06:16:16 · update #3

Just to remind you - it wasn't my question that was removed, it was someone else's. I merely provided an answer. Mind you, upon reflection, the wording of the question could have been better. Rather than 'JW's why is your salvation based on works?' it would have been less inflamatory to ask 'JW's is your salvation based on works?' As it was, I defended the JW response that they do not believe in salvation by works.

Thanks, everybody. I promise to quit the paranoia. Question about predestination coming right up.......

There are some, with higher levels on YA, that can report anything they wish & it will be removed.
It is because prejudice ones target certain groups & will report, report, report.
What the one needs to do, who was reported, is to Dispute the report to YA, when they receive the email, the link will be in it to do this.
I actually had one question re-instated because it was unjustified... then that will in turn, make the ones who reported them have less say-so in reporting next time...
If the question fit guidelines, then it should have NOT been reported.
I see many offensive things, but they don't violate Community Guidelines, so, I just ignore those questions...
but others let their heart rule them & report, just because they don't like us, I guess.

Probably because, "'Why is your salvation based on works?'", is a slur, (a derogatory falsehood), which is prohibited by the Community Guidelines.

To be honest, I believe it's unfair of Y!A to delete a question or answer without including the reason stated by people reporting it.

People talk about the religion because they are ingorant. They just dont know. I have been studying the bible for some time and i have came to the conclusion that this is the true religion also. Everything is supported by the bible. This is the only religion that is united in true worship. I just came back from a convention today and it seems like every different race of people were there and everyone had the same bond and the same goal in mind and that is to serve Jehovah. I planned to get baptized soon and this is going to be the most happiest day of my life.

Ask Yahoo.

Only a scarce few JW's even come to Yahoo Answers.

Every denomination ever mentioned gets "questions" about it removed from time to time. People are out just to stir trouble and Yahoo takes a response to that. Sorry, Jehovah's Witnesses do not control Yahoo, The terms and conditions and terms of service that YOU agreed to when signing up are probably deemed in violation. I get answers removed to for the most innocent of things, I was sincerly asking a question about my avatar and it got removed. Oh well such is life!

With the tone of your additional comments then I can imagine the question details also that was deleted.
We show love and concern to people who are our neighbours worldwide. Our successful existing kingdom ministry is our prime interest not some webpages on Yahoo Answers of people who nobody can vouch authenticity. I can achieve more in one day on the ministry than spending every day for a year on Yahoo Answers.

The same regular people that attack Jehovah's Witnesses are more or less debating to themselves since it is the same people that answer each other too. Sincere people see through it.

Personally, whether your questions get deleted or not it is of no concern to me or anyone else who I personally know as a Jehovah's Witness. You can blame conspiracy among your web friends you have collected on Answers but it is moot to us.

It was probably reported by someone who does not believe in JW doctrine. The staff at Y! Answers most likely removes the question first (without investigating) and then if somebody complains they may check it out.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses when I log on to YA the first thing I do is search for questions for JW'S. YA is a great place to let many, many people know the TRUTH about JEHOVAH and HIS ORGANIZATION. Trust me it would not be one of Jehovah's Witnesses that would have the question removed. I'm sure everyone knows that we love spreading the Good News.

Jesus foretold for our day this work: "This good news of the kingdom will be preached in ail the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nation; and then the end will come." He also instructed his followers: "Go...and make disciples of people of all the nations." Matt. 24:14; 28:19

The message that the Witnesses proclaim involves the lives of people; we want to be careful to miss no one. (Zeph 2:2,3) Our calls are motivated by love-first for God, also for our neighbor.

And all of you here on YA are our neighbors, so keep all the questions coming :)

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I would not even know how to remove someone's question if I wanted to, which I don't. Leave the questions up and be proved a genius or a fool.

What does burn me a little is when I do research and write up an excellent answer and then the question is gone when I preview! Some of my best work for nothing. This has happened many times. I do not know why questions go, but I doubt it is JWs fault. We have too much other things to do.

My question is how would anyone know who took a question off? I do not think it would be any of us on Yahoo, otherwise there would be deletions left and right. I do not think it would be JWs or most of the stupid lies in the questions and the answers would not still be here.

I'm pretty sure it's because questions like these are not genuine questions where the asker really wants to know the answer. It's actually a rant. The asker has a different opinion and wants to get it across - that's not what YA's is for. Having said that, it can be hard sometimes not to do this, JWs and non JWs do this at times (myself included).

Everyone has different opinions but YA's should not be the place to argue or bring your biased rantings. It states this clearly in the guidelines.

Princess Yum Yum: I'm not sure how to explain that.
I enjoy questions from other folks. It exercises my own reasoning skills and I learn something as well.

I do know that for myself I have never ever blocked any one or reported a single person asking a question of JW ... not even the stupid ones. I have however been blocked by a few ... particularly one who promptly posted a question about how nice it would be if ALL answers were welcome. I thought that rather ...hmmm... odd.

Don't stop asking. If you like, write to me directly. I don't bite.

Questions and answers have to be put in such a way that they aren't considered rants, and must be a question. Theres been a lot of reporting and I noticed it also. Peace
