Jealousy is a form of resentment. It is not a good emotion, but is real and you need to learn to deal with it. It's easy for the resentment to turn to hate. When this happens you become what you hate. If you feel jealous, look deep inside to find where the resentment is coming from and don't let it turn to hatred.

good luck to you

envy... are you jealousy for an item that someone else has? Do you want a person that someone else had married or is dating? You know the grass is always greener on someone else's lawn... looks can be deceiving and be very careful what you wish for because sometimes you may get it.

Sometimes trust and lack of self-esteem can be the cause of jealousy... when someone else talks you your mate. Because of the lack of trust one may feel uncomfortable when their mate gets approached by the opposite sex.

I used to say the cause was the "green-eyed monster."

Of course it's normal. It's only bad for you, if someone takes it to a level of obsession.

Jealousy is a form of insecurity.
One can feel insecure in themselves,
or want to become a people pleaser, and instead of
loving themselves for who they are, they become who
the other people want them to be.

Jealousy is a serious subject, sometimes.
It can be quite painful.
I know, because I was once there.
It was a long and lonely road.
I have God to thank for my healing.

Being insecure. Define "normal"
I think it is whatever one feels comfortable with.
As long as someones jealousy doesn't drive you to the point of insanity then that would be up to one whether or not to put up with it.

Some people are more apt to being jealous than others. It seems to be a little more in people with a lower self esteem.
