Every religion has some kind of afterlife theory, which extends to fundamental principles of the human psyche, All Christians believe that they will be reborn after they die, and will be sent to either heaven, purgatory or hell, depending on their behavior while living. On the day of judgment (the Apocalypse) , there will be no purgatory, and Jesus will separate the lambs (good people who go to heaven) from the goats (bad people who go to hell, where there is "weeping and gnashing of teeth"). Muslims also believe in resurrection and the last day of judgment. Jews are still waiting for the messiah, and the non-orthodoxes do not believe in resurrection, but some believe that the prophets resurrect. Atheists, as they have no god, do not believe in anything like heaven or hell, but a variety of tings. Some believe they will travel to another dimension, others believe that "thought-energy" cannot be destroyed, and therefore believe in a type of reincarnation. By the way, atheism is not a religion, but a mode of thought.

Unfortunately I fear this is our only life, so we need to live it to the fullest.
In my opinion, people who follow the rules in Scripture which prevent one from experiencing many pleasurable things in life, are most likely making this choice for no good reason (coughcoughfoolscough). Why deprive yourself of these things if it is indeed possible that a God gave one the tools to experience them??
Anyway, as the song by Moby goes, "we are all made of stars", and after death eventually we'll become one with them again, probably unceremoniously.

As an Atheist I believe death is the end of life. Nothing happens after just decomposition. Most religions believe if you do what your sky daddy says you will be rewarded with heaven and all non believers will go to hell.

What is athiest? Maybe you mean atheist. Anyway, religious views on the afterlife are as varied as the people who practice religion. Since the afterlife doesn't exist, you can pretty much make up anything you want and have it be your religious view on the afterlife. Generally, atheists don't think the afterlife exists.

Bottom line for believers of all stripes: You get what you deserve for good or ill in the afterlife. So you better be good.
Bottom line for all atheists: you're worm food regardless of what your life was like. So be whatever you like.
