There's been a lot of talk about how the hijackers who destroyed the World Trade Center expected to receive 72 virgins (or 70 or 50, depending on whom you listen to) in paradise. Is this really true? (That they expected this, I mean, not that they'll receive it.) It seems a rather unsophisticated and juvenile theology: "In heaven you can eat all the ice cream you want and stay up past ten o'clock and it's always recess." Is there any Koranic basis for believing that those who kill and die for the faith will get the aforementioned virgins?

Hadith number 2,562, known as the Sunan al-Tirmidhi ,

"'The smallest reward [each] for the people of Heaven is an abode where there are 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine and ruby, as wide as the distance from [Damascus] to [Yemen].'"

Those in the Islamic world are severely deceived. Poor, poor things.

Islam is a great religion no question about it.

There are millions of wonderful Islamic people that is sure.

But the Koran or Quran is not of God, and the doctrines there are strong demonic deceptions.

Fortunately, many Islamic people are being reached by God in His tender mercies. It is time all branches of Islam (Christianity too) learn that God does not accept violence. Any who kills in His name will certainly go to hell at the end of the world.

There is no one going to heaven or hell when they die. They go to their graves and await the resurrection, when Jesus returns. If you want a comprehensive study (or studies) on death and hell according to the BIBLE (the true word of God) then let me know.

God is not a monster; neither is He a murderer. Also, the saints in heaven will not be perpetually violating any virgins. That is total rubbish and a recipe for lust and exploitation of women.

Poor, poor, things. I sure pray that Moslems will get out of darkness and into the marvellous light of Jesus.

One Moslem got a dream from Jesus that there was no Allah when Jesus comes, no such person will be found. Startled and worried, he dared to tell others and soon it was discovered the entire village had the same dream. Now they worship the true God.

Moslems, wake up!

This is a sunnah, which is not the word of God.

The truth of which can only be measured by the word of God: the Quran.

The Quran mentions that both female and male believers get beautiful servants in the hereafter.

It doesnt say whether these servants are female or not.

Common sense is a great thing, but alas, the brainwashed, lack brains, so they cant use it much.

Yes it is true - martyrs get 72 virgins in heaven. The hoor al -ayn are mentioned in the Quran

But what does this have to do with the 9/11 ?- they were murderers not martyrs. If they think they're getting the rewards of martyrs their in for a big suprise

Terrorists are Mass Murderers, Not Martyrs

Well I figure that if you are a virgin by the time you get to heaven, you are either really ugly, really fat or really young. I always thought it would be funny if these guys get to heaven and are surrounded by 72 hideous women groping all over them and it would be hard to fight off a plethora of horny fatties...

As for the really young... I guess that wouldn't be so bad to them as their beloved prophet married a 6 year old girl and had sex with her when she was 9.

According to Islam: If one commits suicide, they will have to serve their term in the hell fire. There were innocent muslims in those buildings too, how could they go to heaven killing innocent people, muslims and non muslims. Anyways, I've done some research on it, and there wasnt anyone on those planes. They were remote controlled and filled with bombs. Its the oldest trick in the book of world rulers. To strip us away of our freedom, our rights, and to cause fear in our hearts. People are easily controlled when they are in fear.

Perfect Happiness: Now and Forever

[41:30] Those who proclaim: "Our Lord is GOD," then lead a righteous life, the angels descend upon them: "You shall have no fear, nor shall you grieve. Rejoice in the good news that Paradise has been reserved for you.

[41:31] "We are your allies in this life, and in the Hereafter. You will have in it anything you wish for; you will have anything you want.

[41:32] "(Such is your) ultimate abode, from a Forgiver, Most Merciful."

Hoor has no Specific Gender

Question: According to the Quran when a man enters paradise, he will get hoor, i.e. beautiful maidens. What will a woman have when she enters paradise?

Answer:

1. Hoor mentioned in the Quran
The word hoor occurs in the Qur’an in no less than four different places:
In Surah Dukhan chapter 44, verse 54
“Moreover, We shall join them to companions With beautiful, big and lustrous eyes.” [Al-Quran 44:54]
In Surah Al-Tur chapter 52 verse 20
“...And We shall join them to companions, with beautiful, big and lustrous eyes.” [Al-Quran 52:20]
In Surah Rahman chapter 55 verse 72
“Companions restrained (as to their glances), in goodly pavilions.” [Al-Quran 55:72]
In Surah Al-Waqiah chapter 56 verse 22
“And (there will be) companions with beautiful, big and lustrous eyes.” [Al-Quran 56:22]
2. Hoor Translated as Beautiful Maidens
Many translators of the Quran have translated the word hoor as ‘beautiful maidens’ especially in the Urdu translations. If hoor means ‘beautiful maidens’ or girls, then they are meant only for the men. Hence, what will the women get if they enter Paradise?

3. Meaning of Hoor
The word hoor is actually the plural of ahwar (applicable to man) and of haura (applicable to woman) and signifies a person having eyes characterized by hauar a special quality bestowed upon a good soul, male or female in paradise and it denotes the intense whiteness of the white part of the spiritual eye.

The Quran describes in several other verses that in paradise you will have azwaj which mean a pair or spouse or companion which means you will have spouses or companions pure and holy (mutaharratun means pure, holy).

“But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that their portion is gardens, beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruit there from, they say: “Why, this is what we were fed with before”, for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions pure (and holy); and they abide therein (forever)”. [Al-Quran 2:25]

“But those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, We shall soon admit to Gardens, with rivers flowing beneath - their eternal home; therein shall they have companions pure and holy: we shall admit them to shades, cool and ever deepening”. [Al-Quran 4:57]

Therefore the word hoor has no specific gender. Mohammad Asad has translated the word hoor as spouse and Abdullah Yusuf Ali as companion. Therefore according to some scholars a man in paradise will have a hoor that is a beautiful maiden with beautiful big and lustrous eyes and a woman in paradise will get a man with beautiful big and lustrous eyes.

4. Women will get something exceptional in Paradise
Many scholars say that in context, the word hoor used in the Quran refers only to ladies since gents are addressed. A reply that would be accepted by all types of people would rather be the answer given in the Hadith when a similar question was posed that if a man gets a hoor, a beautiful Maiden in Paradise, then what will the women get? The reply was that the women will get that which the heart has not desired for, the ear hasn’t heard off and the eye hasn’t seen, indicating that even the women will get something exceptional in Paradise.

The answer to this question depends on what religion you are. Christians believe it's untrue, Mulsims obviously believe it's true. As a Christian I try to stay respectful to all religions.
