Be a good role model and be strong and consistent. Don't let personal desires get in the way. For example, I am a divorced father and I have my kids half the time. I like to go out and party with my friends, but when I have the kids I rarely leave them to go out with friends. I always want my kids to know they are number 1 in all circumstances. My friends don't like that, but it just gives an opportunity for my real friends to shine and be supportive of me. In the end, your children will respect you much more if you are consistent and lead by example. This is why immature people should not have children. The children grow up confused about eventhe simple things in life, and then they find they can rely on their friends for guidance instead of their parents.

if u yell at them and scream they will not liten to u. show them a fun way to be respectful and kindful. tell the there's much more fun ways to be kind to others and respect the property's of others. tell them to sit down. have a little chat with them. play a game with them that shows how to respect, have manners, and show how to be kind.

Teach them by example. Respect them and practise what you tell them. They will follow your example. If they begin to learn bad habits from their friends at school etc then tell them that bad habits and unkindness are not acceptable in your family. Try not to be angry with them but explain your reasons. Reward good behaviour.

my opinion is to start out young and find a way to discipline them when they don't. and you have to be consistent with teaching them. a big part is by the way you treat them and how they see you treat others. GOD BLESS YOU AND HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR FILLED WITH NOTHING BUT HAPPINESS!!!!!

They learn by example. Show them how to behave. Kids need strong, firm parents who exercise discipline at the same time as being loving and supportive.
