dream help please?

I had a dream where I was working in a nursing home, and we were getting people ready to eat, putting them at there tables, I remember even in the dream looking around and knowing I dont work in a nursing home what am I doing here? then the nurse yelled at me " get her, she is taking her out and its her birthday!" I turned and saw a elder ladys daughter taking her from the room, and chased after them in to the hall where a huge table was set up with a huge choc cake, she cut a huge piece off and started just shoving it in this ladys mouth, and then pouring juice right after. (this lady could not eat by herself or walk or talk etc, she was totally depenedent) anyway, she kept shoving it in untill the lady choked then vomited. the vomit went all over her and the daughter. the daughter backed her away and went to her room, I started yelling at her that she did that on purpose, i turned to the rest of the family and yelled it to them, that she was trying to kill her, they were a big bunch of real high and mighty people, they looked at the floor and one said "we know but cant stop it" then I woke up.

I do not know anybody in this dream, everybody were complete strangers.

It sounds as if you feel you have a lot of responsibilities and have many people depending on you. You may be seeing others as having to be forced (force feeding the cake) into doing things, even if they don't want to do it the way you want them to. When things turn out badly (choking, vomiting) you want to blame others for it because they didn't follow what you consider proper ways of doing things.
So, maybe you were having difficulties with your children for not minding and you were simply reviewing a circumstance that occurred the previous day with them.

You are currently in a situation that you're not used to or that is unusual to you. This is represented in the dream as the nursing home. The situation takes a turn towards problematic (the old lady and her daughter leaving the room). Although it wasn't your doing, you are are going to be affected by it (the nurse telling you to get her). The daughter shoving food down her mother's mouth is representative of the now problematic situation being made worse by the haphazard and thoughtless way it is being handled. When the old lady choked and vomit you could almost hear yourself saying, "I told you that wasn't a good idea." This means that somebody screwed up the situation further and you knew beforehand that they would but could not do anything because you were not in charge. The person responsible for the situation regressing backs off and leaves the thing hanging. You blamed her but it fell on deaf ears.
Example, you are relatively new at work or in a group. There is situation that needs to be handled that will affect all of the people in the group. Someone was supposed to be responsible but mishandled the situation. This person leaves the situation hanging. The others in the group knew the things were going south but didn't do anything to help. You knew it was going wrong couldn't do anything about it except say "I told you so" in the end.

hmmm....well, can you find a situation around you that parallels this sort of thing? You're in a position of taking care of others who are helpless. Someone has called your attention to a situation where somebody is acting in an abusive manner to one who is helpless. You set out to intervene, but you can only observe, and appear to be somewhat helpless to do anything about it. If we consider "food" as "food for thought" and the action of shoving it down her throat, it sounds like someone trying to force an idea on another that is inappropriate or unacceptable to them, yet they are helpless to deal with this person. The vomit shows the idea as unacceptable. That the lady is shoving birthday cake, may be an indication that everyone understands that she actually means well, but she is misguided. Those around her understand that she is wrong in her thinking, but can't really do anything about her trying to force her ideas on others. She may be mentally ill, or may be someone with a very forceful personality who gets her point across by bullying others until they (at least on the surface) accept her point of view. In any case, it seems this person is out of control in her thinking..........If you can find a situation of this sort in people you know around you, you may be expressing concern for the family involved, and wondering what to do about it...
