Turning water into wine was not a parlor trick that could be taught. It was a Divine Miracle done by the power of God. While his followers didn't necessarily change water into wine, it does speak (in the New Testament) of his disciples performing miracles as well (driving out demons, speaking in tongues and other unrecorded specifics).

...How thoroughly have you studied this out? I'll bet you haven't.
...Illusionists have studied Jesus and His miracles and determined that they couldn't have been faked.
...You should deal with reality, sir.
...Jesus of Nazareth, was a real, historical person. He was witnessed by secular historians of His day, by the Bible, and by millions of changed lives, down through the centuries.
...He made some very unique claims about Himself. He claimed to be God and to be the only way to God. He is one of these four:
1. A liar
2. A lunatic
3. A legend
4. The Lord, as He said.
**
...You cannot call Him a good man or just a good teacher - He did not give you that choice.
...And to not choose to believe on Jesus is to vote against Him.
...What will you do with Jesus who is called Christ?
...I urge you to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.
...

I'm pretty sure his trick was nothing more miraculous than making Kool Aid. I can turn water into all sorts of different things with the right powder.
Would the ancient people know the difference between grape juice and wine?

He had the same kind of people asking him to teach them how to make bread and wine. What he did was offend them so much that they walked away - after following his disciples all night long.
It wasn't about miracles. He was preaching the kingdom of God. Those who are not interested in that he is not interested in.
God does not love everyone. Only those who He chooses out of the world.

He did, or at least, he tried to. Jesus' message was not that we needed to worship him, but that we needed to follow him. If you look and read closely, it seems more and more likely that Jesus was using a type of 'mentalism' or 'magic' - he was so close, spiritually, to the mind of god that he was able to do things that the rest of us haven't figured out yet, He's not the only person in history to have done so, just the most famous. Would take too long to fully explain here, but if you're interested, look into the Emerald Tablet, The Secret, and anything by DW Hauck for further information.

Do you think that Jesus is nothing but a magician that does tricks?!?!?!?!? First of all, are you a christian? Second, it was a miracle.....I think he did it so that he could be noticed by the priests so that they would get mad that he was saying that he was God's Son. His whole purpose of his life was to die for our sins and the priests were the number one way to fufill that purpose. If he taught it to his followers, no one would believe that he is the Messiah but just a magician.

He did teach it. He did not use words to teach but the very demonstration. It was the followers that did not "get it".
