Tell him to spend some time in this Y!A Ramadan section or in Wikipedia etc... he will learn everything quickly & automatically about Islam.
He could clear out things well & learn everything faster on the Internet.
I'm 100% sure he will, cus thats what i did...
I live in a non-muslim country, & the school i went, dint have the subject called Islam for me to study other than Budhism & Christianity, i was brought up by a non-muslim family, & believe me up-to-date ive got only 3 muslim friends, so i learnt about Islam by my ownself doing some researches on the Internet & by the help of my mosque Imam.
I mean, i dint learn the entire history of Islam lol, but i learnt all the good deeds to do which is mentioned in the Quaran for us to follow.
So if your friend has the interest to learn about Islam he can learn it in anyway... It's not a must that he should learn it only from you, ofcourse if poss. you may help him little by little...
But not just in one e-mail.

As i always say, i'm very much thankful to guys over here in Y!A for helping me to learn about Islam.
Cheers guys...
Keep going.

As salaamu 'alaikym.

Insha'Allah, first, I would decide whether or not I was qualified to each Islam. If not, I would assist this person i finding reliable information and/or a good teacher.

To that end, I would, if possible, invite the person in question to the masjid I attended where he might find someone knowledgable to help him.

You could also suggest good websites, books, etc.

We should alwys share what we know however, we have to make certain that we actually know what we think we "know".

Ma'a salaam

salaams sis, sister i advise u to recommend different meens of them learning it i.e. reccommend books, lectures, websites, or even people its best to abstain from speakin with him urself, if u have a husband or brothers who wouldnt mind then maybe u can giv thier number to him for him to learn from them if he is sincere. im sure u no the hadith where the rasul s.a.w sed if a man an woman r alone together then the third person is the shaitaan.
an yes u may not be face to face with him but in this day an age where we have this techknowledgy then the same could be sed over the phone or by email an so on. jus have taqwa of allah an do wat is best insha allah. salaams

i think the best is to send him to a male so there will be no or less fitnah, this is the better for you two

- you are a woman and you can not talk to non-mahram men and what if he will ask anything else, not Islam-related after a lenght of time?
- it is dangerous, he is not like a cousin or so (which is also not considered mahram but at least you know him), he is a totally unknown random man to you, i think you can calmly send him to another muslim (man) to ask him instead of you

i hope that my answer was not offensive

i think it is great that you can teach someone about islam as this is a great reward in itself you seem like you have your head screwed on the right way and you know what to talk about and not talk about so you go girl

Asslamualaikom Brother!

Congratulations for doing Da'wah!
Brother, I think you should ask that anonymous person that on which topic does he/she wants more information on...
But if he/she just replies that they want information on Islam as a whole then please forward them this link:
http://islamqa.com/index.php?pg=gbook&gcat=4&ln=eng
and urge them to ask any questions if they have difficulty understanding Islam!
Congratulations again!
May Allah help you!
Jazakallah!
