Scientists haven't yet proven the Jews were ever in Egypt...and their escape is a cornerstone of Judaism and Christianity. Ditto for the existence of King David. Don't even mention the Flood or the Tower of Babel. Disappointing, isn't it?

Saying "Gerald, it's all true" is avoiding the question. GIVE ME PROOF!

Parts of the Hebrew Bible are history, no doubt about it. But the most important parts, like wandering 40 years in the Sinai desert, are simply in-credible. If you want to defend the stories you'll just have to believe in the scientists' opinions.

I'm not listening to talk about Egyptians ignoring their disasters, like several thousand Jews skipping out of the country. I'm talking science, especially archaeology. Except for one word - "ibiru" - on one stone pillar, there's no proof the Jews were ever in Egypt.

Feathers are ruffled! Building one's faith on stories that are obviously tall tales is d-a-n-g-e-r-o-u-s. Who's to say the Buddhist scriptures aren't God-inspired? Or the Book of Mormon?

Robert R - So I'm a "troll" for asking for proof! I'm in good company, my friend. Glad I made you think for a change. Do it more often.

Daver - I agree, but so much salvation history depends on the Exodus that if there, in fact, was no Exodus two (or three) religions go bankrupt. Can we not agree the Egypt things are a tad far fetched?

If you read a particular article and you relate to it because it reflects you in some way then to you it becomes true.

Hello Gerry,

You sure know how to stir the pot ....

I suspect you'll get answers running fully for or fully against your query concerning Jews in Egypt. I do recall seeing on television (I believe it was the National Geographic channel) where archaeologists found a cause of time lines not quite matching up between the old testament and Egyptian history - and it turned out that archaeologists did find they were able to correlate them to agree exactly.

Meanwhile, expect to get a lot of answers complaining about "theories" that aren't proven - yet many have been time and time again. Relativity is one. Ground positioning systems would not work well if relativity were not taken into account as time passes very slightly slower on earth than in space due to gravity. The sun's gravity affects light and many years ago relativity was proven to correct the expected time for a star to disappear behind the sun and reappear on the other side as the time passed. Sub-atomic particles live "longer" than they should in particle accelerators due to relativistic effects (time slows for them). The electrons hitting the front of your monitor screen or TV (should you not be using LCD or LED monitors) are roughly 5% heavier than electrons at rest. Oh yes, I almost forgot. Some years back, scientists sent two atomic clocks around the world on jets traveling in opposit directions. One West, the other East. Sure enough, atomic clocks were accurate enough to detect a time discrepency. One which *exactly* was explained by relativity.

Good luck with the rest of your answers ;)

Best regards,
Jim

If you said this then you must know that Noah's arc has been found in Turkey. It is in a large mountain where it is extremely cold. No on has been able to go upward there but it is there. I suggest you goggle it.

Also the Jews were in Egypt but would the Egyptians write about such an even that would make them seem weak. It was an embarrassment to the Egyptians that their slaves left and their God cause so much chaos in Egypt.

Recheck your history books (those not written by liberal scholars who protested the Vietnam War). In antiquity, those who were defeated didn't record their defeats, only their victories. Thus, Egypt would not record such an embarrassment to let 50,000 Hebrew slaves escape.

King David's inscription has been found in the Middle east. The stone is engraved "The House Of David".

Not disappointing at all. Yet reaffirming but scary for those without faith.

Not at all disappointing. You are mixing apples with oranges, seemingly on purpose, to make it appear as if the Bible is inaccurate.

The Bible is not an instrument of science, so it is wrong of you to treat it as such.

The Bible is an instrument of Salvation History. Treat the Bible as the tool that it is, and the Truth will be that much more clear to you.

It has actually been shown that the Pyramids were not built by slaves. How about the idea that an Egyptian princess could adopt a slave child and no one would know? Other evidence (and silence where evidence should be) shows that Jesus never existed. (2) The book (both Testaments) is a fable.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.
