The fullness of my question is, why should I consider your message without examinable evidence, without also accepting the message of astrology without examinable evidence? or Buddhism? or Taoism? Hinduism? Islam?

Can't you see you are just one item in the supermarket of ideas, no different from any of the other shiny packages of nothing? So far, your televengelists and pedophile priests and inquisitions and pre-emptive wars have given me little incentive to "buy".

Thanks for all the answers, but many of you ae not getting the question. You keep saying "faith faith faith," but I am not questioning your faith, I am asking why does your faith make sense, and why should it make sense to me with no evidence for me? The question is not about "faith" but "faith making sense".

Because no religion can offer you that. They are all made up to keep people "in-line". Religion is for the people who can't accept that there is nothing when you die, and for those who can't live without the guidance of an unseen being. They need someone to rely on because they can't handle their life themselves. It's sad....to believe in something just because you are weak. There are plenty of statistics to show that those who are believers have lower IQ's than atheist and agnostics.

All religions require some faith and Christianity is no different. They are finding in History the proof of the things in the Bible have happened. I guess we all have to decide for ourselves what it is we want or choose to believe. I have been healed and I know it without a doubt. So, I do have reason and proof enough for me to believe. Now I can't tell you what to believe but I also would hate to not believe in anything. Even the act of human kindness has to come from a good place...there has to be something to believe in. That is my opinion. I just would hate to think that I was a really mean, angry, hurtful person and then die and find out that I was wrong. That God does exist. So, I'd rather be wrong and be a good person than wrong and be a mean person. That is just me though. You have to think for you and that is what it is all about, God gives free choice...to believe or to not believe and we can do with that what we will. But I am also glad that I will be judged by a loving God and not the people that say they are Christians and have a way of judging you right here before God gets the chance. Like all religions there are false profits and those that think they are really right and they are really wrong, but they have to deal with themselves, I don't judge that is God's job. I would never assume to know what is really in a man or woman's heart would you? Good luck. Miss Mary

I'm a Christian.
I can get along with you and whatever you believe. As far as faith making sense, it doesn't. Neither do a lot of other things that exist in our lives.
You don't have to buy faith. There are more of us willing to share it with you when you are ready to accept it than the type of Christian that demands you understand and believe.

What I believe is the truth and I'd never tell you not to see reasearch on all these things.I will qualify I would never read occult material. The more I see of these other mentioned teachings the firmer I believe in my faith and the truth of God Almighty.I have no axes to grind and worship is a gift of free will by Jehovah God. It's up to each one of us to choose the correct narrow path, and not the wide road that leads of into distruction.[www.watchtower.org]

so what? no one's asking you to "buy" a thing. everyone in life has morals and values they live by, and for most of us , that includes faith in a religion of some sort. if you have no faith, that's up to you. no one is trying to talk you into anything.

by the way -- I HAVE PROOF God exists.... so THERE'S something for you to think about, Personally, I'm not saying a word. Suffice it to say I'm a jaded, extremely logical person to the point that it annoys my friends... and I STILL have proof. There are some things that go way beyond being a coincidence. Waaaaaaay beyond.

There is no conclusive proof, but there is a lot of persuasive evidence. I studied Scripture, and while I still had questions, and there were things I didn't like, I found the evidence of divine participation in the book overwhelming. Clearly we all have faith. (It is written that a measure of faith is given to every man) The question is "what will you put your faith in?"

It doesn't. Biblical faith is not blind faith. (unlike some other religions)

I believe because the eyewitness testimony of Jesus life, ministry and miracles recorded in the gospels is convincing to me. Read them for yourself and see if they're convincing to you.

Now some people ask, "How can I know God has spoken?"
Just read His word and I'm not jokin.
Raising the dead and healing the blind.
Oh, there's lots of proofs, you'll find.
In the presence of thousands, both friend and foe.
things not done in secret, don't you know.
For when God speaks His word, He understands
we need proof it's His and not man's.

As a Christian I can see how negative you are ! Can't you see that your the one with no sense or Wisdom to know right from wrong ? When you point one finger at us, don't forget that there are three pointing back at you. Does that make sense ??? NOTHING ??? Tell me what NOTHING IS ?? Without the Faith and knowledge of knowing God, we and you are NOTHING !

Yeah, fundamentalists are ruining Christianity for potential converts and driving them into other religions or atheism. It's going to be a HUGE problem for Christianity through this century if these kinds of people keep making themselves out to be the poster-boys of our religion, but despite this, they are not, and they represent very few of us.

There are many brands of Christianity, even if most of the Christian isle is tainted to you. If you knew more about my personal non-denominational belief system, I am sure you could respect it. (Most honest Christians would too.)

it's called faith. it's moving forward every day, even if it's crawling.
it's a personal connection to our God, even if we're only hanging on by a thread. it's about letting him work through you and being his messenger to all the world.
if you look for the evidence with an open mind, like i have several times, i found it. there's the whole fiasco with original manuscripts of the bible, more have been found than homer's illiad, for example but the bible is still not accepted as legit.
all in all, i see athiests as having more faith than us. shake around a box with wheelbarrow parts in it. will they fall together? we live in a complex ecosystem, and even if one cell could come from nothing, or a BANG, as such, then how will it reproduce?
Jesus died for us and saved our sins. if you choose to accept him, then pray this prayer with me now.
'God, I know i'm a sinner and i'm sorry for what i have done. take me as your child and take me to heaven to live forever with you. Amen'
best wishes for you all.
