First, it really is a pot luck. Like all things in like, nothing is 100% - so, if you had sex with an infected person you will not 100% get what they have. It's like a friend of yours having a cold, if you go over there once - you may not get it. Yet, if you continually go back while they are sick, chances are you will get what they have.

Yes, testing will show something up - it also depends on what you are testing for. I really love some of the misinformed answers saying diseases take years to build until it's too late. Not true, if you are regularly tested (like a 3-6 month basis), chances are if you catch something you will have caught it in it's early stages and hopefully can be treated. Mind you, not all sti's/std's CAN be tested and can be treated.
HPV (cant be tested in men since men are the "carriers") and Herpes are the two infections that cannot be properly tested for. HPV can lay dormant for years, even if you have testing and Herpes, well, doctors rarely test for it unless you are having a outbreak.

HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, etc can all be tested for and caught in the early stages. HIV can be treated with meds, however it is a life long infection but not a death sentence anymore. Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea can be treated and cured with meds.
And no, no disease can lie undected for testing except HPV and Herpes, sorry people - there would be no reason to test if these diseases could stay undected.

Also, when speaking to many medical professionals - depending on the type of testing done (preferrably NAAT testing), a false postive and false negative are rare. Possible yes, but rare.

It depends on the STD. You may just be a carrier for it or you may get infected. There is a possiblity of not getting anything at all. However don't take a chance with your health please use a condom. If you think you already have something go get tested and used a condom until it is cleared up (if you have a STD that is cureable) and be sure to inform your partner(s).
You can look up all STD's online and should get tested as soon as possible especially if you have symptoms you can also contact a planned parenthood to learn more.

I got identified with genital herpes (type 2) about 6 yrs ago, when I was still attending college and had a silly one-night stand. I understand a lot of young ladies will declare this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/VDyxm everything got better.

Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the hsv from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating once more. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a crowded cafe, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system provided the chance to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Yes you could be. However, it unlikely as it's normally 10 to 14 days after the period ends before a woman ovulates. Semen will normally be destroyed by the woman's natural defences within 48 hours. There is never a guarantee though and you should never engage in unprotected sex.

Providing that it was vaginal sex which did not include any anal or oral aspect to it then the chance that you contract an STD such as AIDS is very slim.

Many STD's manifest slowly and do not show any symptoms until it is too late. This includes syphilis.
If you have had unprotected sex with someone with an STD then it is vital that you have an STD check.

Many STD's can be treated very easily providing that they are caught early

depends on the std/sti (for some stds the test won't confirm if its posative or negative and u will get different results). not all stds/stis are included in a blood test so u have to ask for one to be done at the doctor or gyno. some stds only take one unprotected time having sex to be passed on if your partner has an std. u can even get stds/stis from oral sex. stds/stis can be caught by anybody male/female, gay/streight, nice/promiscuous, rich/poor, white/black, etc.

It matters what sex you are and whether you have any cuts on your private parts.

If you are a female you are more likely to catch a STD as the male directly injects his infected fluids into your body.

Unless the male has a cut on his penis he is unlikely to catch any STI as the vaginal juices will not enter his body.
