i've read all the answers and i want to congratulate those who have shared and impart their concern and advises.. All answers are great! Finally, will just take my mom to her endoctrinologist. Thank you!!

If it's bright red and during gas, it's probably hemorrhoids. If they are not painful they are OK. She will need an occult blood test first, then possibly a sigmoidoscopy (lower colon) to see. I would get her to a gastroenterologist. The right kind of fiber (like oatmeal and applesauce) will help both her diabetes and any hemorrhoids.

More then likely she has hemeroids which can cause the bleeeding nothing to do with diabetes.To be on the safe side have her screened for blood in her stool.Her doctor can provide you with a sample card to collect smears of BM.The next test may be a colonostomy if the samples test positive.

this is most likely nothing related to diabetes
it is hopefully hemorrhoids but worst case scenario is that its cancer
while diabetes can contribute to this it is probably not related
and yes cancer would complicate diabetes
u might want ot take her to the doctor
