Bought it preowned. It's a gen 3 and well used. I was getting falilures to feed with both ball and hallowpts. A nice tap on the mag sends the round into the chamber. It also goes into batery when inserting a new mag without hiting the slide release. I wood like to know if anyone else has experience with the same issues, and what caused it or fixed? I have already had a glock armorer polish the ramp, the triger linkage, and the all the normal parts and replaced a wareing slide release. I'm useing 357 and 40 mags all react the same. the next thing i think i will try to change is the mag release. i supose it's possible that it has worn to a point that the mag does not reach its max height, thus not feeding properly. the other solution i thought might work is a new mag follower. one that forces the necked down rounds in a more nose up position. any advice would be apriciated. i would like to put this pistol in use as a home defence gun and possibley a future cc gun.

It sounds like you need might need a new magazine or mag release (try the new magazine first). Don't bother with a new magazine spring or follower.if a new magazine doesn't cause the cycle to work safely after you have already taken it to an armorer then it would be wise to contact Glock inc. for inspection and repairs. After trying above remedies and gun action is still not rectified take the gun out of commission until repaired to avoid dangerous situation.Only use a gun for self defense that is 100 % reliable in operation after 300 rounds discharged. hope this helps.

after reading addtional details i would advice you to send the firearm to Glock Inc. i know it is a hassel to pack and send your firearm, but it will be the next course of action that would remedy your problem.upon arrival Glock will update any parts of the gun that are needed and repair your firearm most times free of charge, but if not they will contact you for pre -authorization on any pending work that will not be handled free of charge. Send a note stating problems with the gun and a copy of any repair bill from the glock armorer. i know it is a long shot but they just might reimburse you for the costs accrued but then again i wouldn't hold my breath. You have went above and beyond the call of duty, let them repair it.

i highly recommend triljcon night sights, i have them on mine and i love them.i also would recommend buying a rail light.
i have the Streamlight TLR-1 a( 3-watt white light led @80 lumens) and once you get it you will thank me later.i think their updated version of which just developed has 110 to 120 lumens i think that would be a welcomed improvement both are water proof, shockproof and made of metal.

Practice firing your weapon at night to accustom yourself to the muzzle flash because unless you obtain and use reduced flash ammo from high end makers there will be plenty of it and of course use ear protection.buy some dummy rounds and practise clearence drills just incase there is a misfire or a stovepipe jam. Remember practise with a purpose and not to just waste copper. have fun. 12/27/07

How old are the mags....

So things to check:

You may wish to check that the springs are engaging the follower properly, past owner may have not reassembled them right.
You could also go to a new + power mag spring.

As you said, take a look at the mag release to see if it has abnormal wear. But that is very uncommon...

In continual failure feeds the first thing to try is a new mag.

Revolvers don't have failure to feed problems. Better six full power.357 MAGNUM rounds that go bang with every pull of the trigger than ten light loaded magnum imitators in a fancy pants flatgun that won't feed reliably.
