Has a doctor ever explained to you why the thyroid surgery and IF the thyroid surgery is the cause for the hypertension?? Are you seeing any specialists or only your family doctor? Have you had a full lab workup? None of the meds reduce your blood pressure?? If not....maybe you aren't on the right combination. Have you seen an endocrinologist? Do you see an Internist? You need to demand answers from someone if you still are not feeling well and it only started after your thyroid surgery. Go to several doctors if you must. Don't sit idle on this. It's YOUR health and no one else it going to care about it as much as you will.

Get a lawyer who specializes in Social Security Disability cases. Try a low fat diet.

can you get another opinion? My other half has high bp, had to try heaps and heaps of pills and mixtures of pills to get it right too. Last one they added seemed to do the trick for him - Olmetec. He also had to lose weight, give up the fags and get a bit fitter. I would suggest you push for another opinion you can't go on living this way, obviously what your on now isn't working so good luck on finding what does :)
