Tough call. The eggs you find in most stores are sterile as in even if you try to incubate them they won't hatch only rot.
However most of the eggs you find in super markets come from chickens who spend their entire lives locked up in little tiny cages. They're essentially egg producing machines. Never knew the pleasure of scratching round in the barnyard.
Soy bean products have a lot of protein, there's even soy based peanut butter.

Eggs aren't a dead animal, the eggs you buy in stores aren't fertilized yet (the hens have no access to roosters - male chicks in general are typically 'eliminated' because they are not useful in the egg industry). They are an animal by-product, however, sort of like dairy.
It sounds like your mom is pretty accepting of you being vegetarian, and she does have a point about eggs - to an extent. Eggs are a complete source of protein, and they are easily digested. However, the amount of protein in an egg (one large whole egg has 6 grams of protein) is not very high. You would have to eat eight or more eggs a day to meet your protein requirement with eggs alone.
Thankfully there are many sources of protein that are suitable for vegans: tofu, seitan, tempeh, whole grain pasta, vegetables, TVP or fake meat products, etc. There is a type of bread that I really like by a company called Ezekiel 4:9 that has 4 grams of protein per slice; the bread is made from seven different sprouted grains and is a complete protein source as well. You can easily meet and surpass your protein requirements, and make sure you have complete sources of protein, on a vegan diet (protein is made up of a variety of amino acids, and not all protein sources are 'complete', meaning containing all of the amino acids).
Be aware that eggs are not such a good source of B12, so you would still need to find other ways to supplement your B12 intake.
If you don't feel comfortable with cutting out eggs, you can wait until you're out of your parent's house. However, if you wanted to, you could study up on nutritional requirements, and what food is made up of - how much protein, carbs, fat, vitamins and minerals various foods have. Sooner or later you would have to learn all this anyway if you plan to pursue a healthy vegan diet. You can very well start learning about it now and preparing yourself for the transition.

I know I will shock many vegetarian and vegan. But you dont have to replace eggs by anything. Eggs are not needed and we dont need to find a way to replace protein by others. This is absolutly wrong. Our society is "brain-washing" people about proteins because they want to sell animals product. But remember, humans dont need to eat animals products, dont need to eat dairy product. Just open your eyes, in Asia for exemple, many people are not using dairy product. They are healthier than us (less calcium problem, less overweight, etc..). How can people imagine that eggs were made for human? This is wrong. Hens make eggs for make baby. Eggs contains lot of cholesterol (the yellow part) and its not healthy for human.
If you eat vegetables, fruits with a large variety of them, you will have all you need. I'm vegan for almost 10 years. I never never worry about where I will find proteins or vitamins (only exception can be the B12, but we usualy need a very small quantity of B12 and we dont need to eat B12 on daily basis (one a month is really enough for me). I do blood check every-years and I can tell you, the doctor cant believe how its possible that I have a so good health.
If you finaly choose to continue eating eggs while you stay at familly-house, then ask your mother to buy only "open-air organic eggs". The hens are still exploited and suffering, but less than others. Eggs are not dead animal. Its like sperm... it is not dead human. Eggs are eggs. The problem with eggs is the exploitation of hens.
Regards.

It depends on how YOU think about it. Do you consider eggs to be a dead animal and shouldn't be eaten? But of course you did say you were most likely going to become a vegan. There are actually many substitutes for eggs and protein. You can take protein shakes, drinks and vitamin pills. Or for egg substitute you can use this replacer called Ener-G Egg Replacer. Here is a site that has tons of recipes and different replacers for tons of animal products you might/are considering giving up.

an egg is definately not a dead animal, it doesnt contain any chicken. The chicken only starts to grow inside the egg if it has been fertilized by a male after it has been layed. The eggs you buy from a store have not been fertilized.. otherwise they would hatch.
The main thing you get from eggs is protein, so to replace it you could have beans, tofu, nuts, milk, cheese, or just have a protein shake or take a tablet. :)

A true vegetarian doesn't eat anything that had or comes from something that had a face. So eggs are out. You need to go the the library, or book store and get some information on what each food has to offer, so you have a balanced diet. Peanut Butter is high in protein.

If you cut eggs out completely, you will need to replace them with another "rich" protein source if you wish to develop into a healthy adult. The best thing would be beefsteak, but I guess that's not an option for you, huh?
You should probably keep eating eggs until you are in your early twenties.

Store bought eggs do not have a "dead animal" in them as they are unfertilized. But if you are uneasy about consuming them, there are other souces of protein other than animal sources. Read up and tell your mom about them

I think what you need to do at this point is learn a bit more about nutrition to make sure you are eating all that your body needs. This is what I did before turning vegetarian (3mos ago). The site I got the most from and recommend to everyone is http://drmcdougall.com/
