As a vegetarian, for 20 years I would say no. But most people don't usually make a point of making meatless entrees unless they know in advance they will be having a few vegetarians over for dinner. I have seen fellow veggies be terribly rude about being served a casserole or some kind of dish with big hunks of meat in it--I just pick out the meat and eat the rest. If I get a few bits in there, oh well. It is better than making a big deal out of it and making the hostess feel bad.

i'm pretty sure a genuine vegetarian would not want to even put meat in their mouth? It is stupid because it's not helping save an animal, because the meat is still wasted, and chewing a piece of meat will probably mean that you'll swallow some of the juices.

if you are a vegetarian just for health reasons i guess but why would you honestly want to ?
if you are vegetarian because you care about animals then i doubt you can.

but vegetarian is not a set of rules you have to follow or get kicked out. its just an idea which enough people fall into to have a general label to help others quickly know so you can do whatever you want. i personally would never have when i was vegetarian.

Do you mean chew and spit out, or do you mean leave it on your plate? If you mean the former, think of a recent President's answer about his youthful use of marijuana. Can you envision yourself saying later to a fellow-vegetarian, "Yes, but I didn't swallow"?

Well, it is about 20 years I avoide Xmas dinner, even with my own mother, because she and the rest of the family feast on dead bodies.

Why would a vegetarian want animal flesh in their mouth?

I'm not a vegetarian but I can imagine the thought would be disgusting to them

Just eat it and be done with it! You can get back on track again the next day. The sky won't cave in. Just have a small portion. The animal would have died in vain if it doesn't get eaten. Worried that you will like it?

That would be a rather disgusting dinner, if everyone kept spitting out their meat.

Depends what he/she wants to do.

Some vegetarians are stricter than others. It's a personal choice.

I would not insult a vegetarian by insisting that they had to have meat on their plate
