We have washed it and put tenor on it. Tenor helped but it cries like it is dying.... It is like putting alcohol on a cat.

You're going to have to call a vet, and fast. Before kitty licks at his fur to clean himself, thus ingesting the poison.

The rat traps we use her only have a sticky material on them, there's no poison added to it.
Vets are trained to help animals, not kill them. If you don't like one vet find another one in your area. At the very worst the sticky stuff can be shaved off, don't use alcohol to remove it!
Killing the cat isn't an option! NOT for something as non-life threatening as sticky material on them. If you wish, call a hospital and ask what they'd recommend for a baby who has this stuff in their hair, you'll get an honest answer about how to remove the stuff from a child, which can be used for the cat.

Well, if you don't take the cat to the vet, it's going to die. So take it ASAP. If you have one of those cone collars handy, put that on it so it can't lick itself. If not, the vet will give you one. This is urgent. And you shouldn't be using those types of traps or any kind of trap really if you have pets. Obviously the poison is dangerous and even if you'd put the snapping kinds down, it could've broken her paw.
And I don't know what you mean by he could "Change and be a bad cat." No - he could die and be a dead cat. He should be ok if you can get him to the vet to get him cleaned up. I know its Christmas Eve, but there should be an emergency clinic open somewhere.

You take him to the vet. First, I'd scrape off or comb off as much as I could. Anything you use that would be strong enough to take the sticky poison off him would probably make him sick or poison him when he licks his fur. For now, you could fashion what's called an "Elizabethan collar" so he can't lick himself. It's a cone-shaped thing made of stiff plastic (like milk jugs are made of). It fits around the cat's neck (padded at the neck) so his head won't turn to reach himself. If you call the vet you can get some advice on what else to do. Really, I'd consider this an emergency.
It would be a good idea to look at the package of the rat trap to see what chemicals are in it so you can tell the vet. This might help him decide what to use to help your cat.

The glue used in "sticky traps" is NOT POISONOUS! So drop that particular worry.
However, it is extremely adhesive and specifically designed to not come off easily. You'll have to shave your cat free of the trap, taking care to not touch the glue (or it will stick to you, and it's just as difficult to remove from human skin as anything else).
As for him frightening your mom ... he's frightened and angry, and lashing out at anyone who may be responsible. That's normal. You'll have to have a couple of extra hands to control him while shaving his fur, so convince mom to get tough. And don't worry about long-term effects. If he's basically a good cat (and most are) he should forget about this incident within a short time.
He will look very pathetic and silly with his fur shaved. Try to not laugh at him, as cats are very sensitive about that sort of thing.
And for heaven's sake, never EVER use "sticky" traps again! They are among the most inhumane of all traps as they allow the trapped critter to slowly starve to death. A "snap" trap almost always causes instant death, and is much preferred by most people.

The idea of that trap is to catch the rat with glue. I doubt that it has poison on it. Still call the vet, and ask what to use to clean the cat with, and for Gods sake keep the cat away from those traps.

I would call your vet IMMEDIATELY to see if you need something for the poision. Rat poison isnt only harmful to rats you know.
If your vet is touturing your pets and killing them, you need to find a new vet, and perhaps report the other vets to the spca.
I'm getting a feeling that this isnt a serious question.

Get him to a vet. Safest course of action. Beyond that I don't think his behavior will change. Right now he's very upset and he's reacting to all that has happened. Once he's cleaned up and has had time to calm down he'll return to his old self.

Take him to the vet or an emergency vet clinic. You shouldn't have sticky traps around if you have pets.
