The price for homebrewing has already gone up as the hop and grain shortages hit the homebrew shops the worst. They get whatever grain and hoops that the breweries don't buy and, right now, the breweries are stockpiling everything ther can.

I used to brew my own beer before I left England 11 years ago. There are many books with recipes on the market and in the library. There are also many brewing kits which give you all the ingredients and instructions.. Give it a try. Five gallons only takes 2 or 3 weeks and it is a lot cheaper than beer in bars. It is also a lot stronger so watch it.

It's already 4 quid in parts of London. How much will those pub prices go up to?
I don't drink beer, but if i did, i would seriously consider it.
I just hope wine isn't in line for the same hike

I've been brewing and vinting for years. It's not just a matter of cost. I keep trying to brew the perfect (for me) wheat beer and bock and to clone the memory of a beer that is unavailable (normally) outside of the abbey that produces it.

Saint, may I call you Saint? Anyway, I think that instead of brewing my own I would take to disguising myself as one of those chav tossers and rob my local off license store...
