If they lie to you, they must have a good reason to.
Why dont you try giving her your number. That way, if she wants to call you or text you, she can. And she doesnt feel obliged to have to give it to you.
If you don't know whether they are lying, it means you must not trust them. And if you do trust them, then trust the fact that they won't lie to you.
Or, if you know for a fact they are lying, ask them why they are lying. Then you'll know for sure.

Maybe they are being sincere, but you can take it for granted that if she used all three of those or she keeps finding ways to say no, then shes not interested. Like someone before said dont make her feel like she has to give her your number, give her yiurs, that way she has a choice, but dont go about it like you give your number out to any old girl everyday, that just seems playerish and that aint good.
If she says shes busy ask what when works with her, again she has a choice, if she comes out with she just doesnt like you, ask why, for future reference, but dont push her to tell you, just ask curiously, that way you know what isnt working and what to work on.

they do lie. just like we do.
you don't need to find out if they are sincere about the responses that are in the negative. Take the nos as no.
as to ''Why girls...already a boy-friend?''
they are taught by society to BEWARE of the "Angel you don't know" because, "the Devil you know is always worth chasing after",even if he leaves her with HIV, syphilis or abortion pains in the end.
hence your answer to Fallen Angel's question '' dating the Gang Member '' is ''YES'', if you you wish to be popular with women generally.
They may say on and on that they love honesty, but only a blind fool can't see that men all over the world are pretending to be criminals in order to win the adoration of women. It's disgusting to me too, but i also have to, at least, hide many of my best qualities.
