If looks don't matter...?

Who would you date? Two guys had exactly the same nice personality... both were equally as good for you and suited you. But one's really really hot and handsome and sexy and the other's really not good-looking, big nose, few missing teeth, bald etc. Who would you choose? Just answer the question honestly. And don't say "it doesn't matter..." bla bla bla. Who? Hot guy or not hot guy?

And vice versa for men... Hot girl or not hot girl if they had the same personality.

well OBVIOUSLY I'd go for the hot girl. Come one we all know that the people who say looks don't matter are the ugly ones who wish it were that way.

Ok --- Given the situation that I had a choice between two ladies where their personalities and traits are equal. The only difference is the features, I would take the looks.

But there were times during the course of my dating life when I chose the woman with the lesser of the looks because she had a better personality or treated people better or acted more maturely.

Looks do make a difference.

The way someone looks can be an indicator of health, or how well one looks after oneself. E.g. smoking and drug use ages the skin and poor hygiene can lead to skin outbreaks. Laziness can lead to poor muscle tone and over eating.

If someone has a natural imperfection but dresses well and appears fit and friendly, they will more likely be seen as attractive than if they were born with good looks but had no signs of developed character, such as laughter lines or muscle tone.

Although people generally like to imagine themselves with a perfect looking Holywood star or starlet, most people feel more comfortable with people they relate to. E.g. many very good looking girls complain that guys are too scared to ask them out.

Also there is a tendency for people to be attracted to people who are opposite themselves on a masculine V femininity scale. E.g. Very masculine men and super feminine girls will seek each other out, and less feminine looking girls will seek out prettier or more boyish boys.

There are however some universals such as tall men (no matter how ugly or creepy) will likely be attractive to many women, whilst men generally feel less comfortable with a girl taller than them.

Don't be silly - of course looks matter. They say a lot about how someone takes care of themselves and what they think about themselves. Some aspects are beyond your control - but others (weight, teeth, hair) these are things you can control.

Now guys with great character can be interesting people and still look weird - and good-looking guys can be jerks.

true story--2 girls were chasing my son one was a slender beauty and I mean BEAUTY the second was really cute with a bubbly smile and filled with life. My son walked down the aisle with the BEAUTY. Less than 2 years later my son is a nervous wreck, alone, fighting to keep his assets because the BEAUTY was with another man 7 months into their marriage . moral of story wear blinders before you pick.

the answer is obvious, you would pick the hot guy, but then so would the other chicks, do you really want to live with someone who thinks and knows he is hot hot, i would, but is it going to last, he is obviously going to have other admirers, you really need to think about it and follow your heart
