I actually have talked to the guys in the garage and know that Tony's fine with all changes with JGR. Please stop with the nonsense. I am frankly getting sick of all of it. That's why I haven't been here lately. If you have forgotten JGR started in a Pontiac, then switched to Chevy, and now it's the Toyota. Please just leave it at that. I'm frankly getting sick of defending my friends with all of their decisions. How can you be a Pepsi drinker and still like people who peddle Coca-Cola?

The rumor got started Because Stewart said that he wasn't going to do anything with his contract until after the holidays and that was all it was about. He just wanted a break. Then the rumor switched to him being unhappy about the team switching to Toyota.
An interview with Joe Gibbs on Sirius Radio last week, Joe Gibbs stated that Tony was the main one pushing for a switch to Toyota because of the manufacturer support that they would receive being the top level team running Toyotas.
So yes, it's all a rumor.

I heard alittle something about that, but Smoke and Gibbs are tight...But I do see Tony getting back into a Chevy maybe in 09, where be belongs.. I hope for all of us that Smoke has a great 08, cause we all know when Smoke isn't happen, we hear it big time.. The networks better get their bleeping button ready, sure they will need it, if Smoke doesn't have a good yr..

hi, iam a big mascar fan and can not wait till february, however i saw smoke on tv talking about his new team and he said it would be a challenge for him and he was happy and it will be a change for him, so i hope he does good in the new team and i like #31 #99 # 20 # 88 to which will be earnhard and i hope he will have some luck in 2008 ,and dont worry smoke will do good and he likes his new crew, i heard him say it, i hope that helped a litle, merry christmas cheeky

I have not heard that, and I doubt that it is true. Smoke has always been on board with all the changes going on at Gibbs. One other thing is he is always willing to make changes. I believe that Smoke is extremely happy with the new manufacture and the new teammate.

I think rumors like these are mainly wishful thinking by Toyota-hating Stewart fans who badly want to see him back in a Chevy.
