I have seen long lines during the summer for the Accademia, but will there be lines in February? I don't know whether I should try to make reservations or not.

February it's a rather quiet month but lines are always possible in every month. It's enough you meet with 2-3 buses of tourists that decide to see the David just before you and you'll have to afford lines. If I were you I would book in advance. For advanced reservation you've to pay an additinal fee of € 3 but you'll avoid bad surprises...!!
Here's the link to the official website for on-line reservations

In February '08 there are days and hours where availability is already less than 5 places.

Don't forget the Accademia in closed on any Monday.

Happy New Year

I was there last January, no lines at all.
I'd make reservations anyway, though, esp. if it's a focus point in your trip and you don't want to miss it or if you come from far away and you can't afford spending your time waiting. If you can say "No problem.. I'll see it next time", don't book.
Well, I live less than 2 hours by train from Florence, and I booked in advance!
In summer I'd not even mind booking, it's so packed you can hardly see anything.
