Not everyone is against Muslims. I certainly am not. And mind you, I'm an apostate of Islam, so most people would assume that I'm an Islam-hater. On the contrary - I am not. I even defend Muslims on this board.
But I am against extremists, fundies, religious nuts, people who have ''better than thou'' complex, who threaten everyone else with hell-fire, I am against Muslims who belittle everyone elses's beliefs (like mocking Christians and Jews for example, not to mention Atheists), I'm agaist terrorism, against stoning to death, against beheading people, against leaving teenage girls to DIE in a buliding that was set on fire just because they didn't have time to grab their hijabs (this actually happened) and so on.
What I would LOVE to see for a change is moderate Muslims gathering and protesting against terrorism in the streets. Why don't you people go out with boards, invite TV stations and make THAT news for a change? Don't tell me it wouldn't work. Yes, it would. As long as Muslims are silent about attrocities being committed in the name of allah I will take the other side.
Blogging doesn't count as speaking up.

Islam grew at a tremendous rate and muslims were ruling the world till 16th century or so. After that muslims slowly started to forget their true path and deviated from Islam. Today there are name sake muslims in more number who have huge wealth but physically and mentally they are not strong enough to face the enemies. Hence the enemies of Islam have come out with success where even some muslims act against their own muslim brothers and sisters. All bcos muslims fail to understand their real path of life and their religion. That is why today we see the reverted muslims are better than the born muslims. Many examples for this. All world islamic propagators are from non-arabic world like Yusuf Islam, Bilal Philips, Zakir Naik, Ahmed Deedat and so on. We need not wait till the end of the world. If we read the Quran and understand the Prophet's way of life we can know and realise who is the true God.

Let me ask you this. Why would an all knowing god need to abrogate (change his mind) the Koran ? and this: 4:82 -- if the Koran weren't from Allah, surely you'd find much incongruity in it. (now go to skeptics annotated quran and see if they've found much incongruity in it. Or let me ask you this: Hadith say that Mohammed knew that eating 7 dates would prevent poisoning. But how did Mohammed die ? He was poisoned. And let me ask you this: if fly wings cure disease (another hadith) why is there still disease killing people off by the millions ? Including Muslims. And let me ask you this: if Allah is omnipotent and created us, and wants us to all worship him, why don't we all worship him ? Where's that 'all powerfulness' he's supposed to possess when it comes to him getting what he wants ? Why do Muslims have to do all the work for him ? So yeah, go ahead and convert if you want, just know that you're converting to a very stupid religion. Oh, and then there's the Bukhari about how to wipe your own butt. And many others. Apparently the perfect religion is as superstitious as you can get. Do you know what 'No True Scotsman' means ? It means that yeah, the terrorists really were Muslims. Look a bit harder into Islam and you'll find plenty of support for terrorism. That's why so many of the terrorists are Muslims.

I'm not. But I couldn't advertise what I believe openly in many Muslim countries, and certainly not invite people to leave Islam and join me.
So to a certain extent, Islam is against me
(So is the Pope, as it happens)
While many Muslims do indeed speak against those who both embrance violence and call themselves true followers of Islam many others, especially in postions of power and influence, do seem reluctant to break the perceived priority of Islamic unity by turning on these extremists and exiling them from the Islamic community. Where are the fatwahs against violence?
While there is this internal fight over "What is the true Islam?", no wonder that outsiders tend to be cautious, if not suspicious.
Yes, I admit the media's bias for the sensational doesn't help one little bit. If they sleected 1,000 Muslims at random and interviewed them, they wouldn't get one terrorist.
But one terrorist can influence hundreds of thousands of people via the media. That's a good part of why they do it.

A better question is why should Muslims care what other people think of them ? If you wear a scarf for the sake of other you're wasting your time
There is only one God - so we can wait and see who is the real God- and because there is only one God you should worship him alone and not others and their opinions

I'm not against Muslims.
I have many Muslim friends and they are very nice people.
It's the stereotypes and terrorist attacks that cause people to fear and hate Muslims. The conclusions they draw about Muslims they see everyday are often false because they make ignorant assumptions.
The world will end sooner or later, but scientists have concluded that the human race may end people the world does.

I have nothing against you.
My aunt was a nun, she wore head-gear not much different than yours.
one comment, the real God (Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate as the Koran says) is the same God of the Jews and Christians. Don't exclude people that pray to the same God as you.

I think we're waiting for an outraged Muslim response against suicide bombers and against beheading and against religious intolerance. Every country that has a significant Muslim population also has Islamic terrorists and the Muslim community should be outraged over that. We think normal includes outrage at such things.

It's more of, Muslims are against everybody who is not Muslim? You know, the 'Dar-ul-Islam vs. Dar-ul-Harb' concept?
Let me quote Syed Qutb....
"There is only one place on earth which can be called the home of Islam (Dar-ul-Islam), and it is that place where the Islamic state is established and the Shar'iah is the authority and God's limits are observed, and where all the Muslims administer the affairs of the state with mutual consultation. The rest of the world is the home of hostility (Dar-ul-Harb). A Muslim can have only two possible relations with Dar-ul-Harb: peace with a contractual agreement, or war. A country with which there is a treaty will not be considered the home of Islam." (Qutb, Milestones, p. 68 )
