Can I return a product to Wal-Mart without a receipt?

Yeah, my daughter recieved a gift from a relative, but it's not something she wanted. Anyway, I'm going to try and return it, but unfortunately we don't have a gift receipt and I don't want to ask for one. I know I cannot get a cash return, but will I even be able to get in store credit if I don't have a receipt?

You'll have to show your driver's license and sign a receipt. (I think that they only allow you 3 returns, without the proof of purchase.) You will get refunded the current price of the item, usually on a gift card.

Anytime this week, is a bad time to go. The store closes at 6 on Christmas Eve, and will be packed! The rest of the week will be a nightmare as well, due to people returning unwanted Christmas gifts. I would definitely wait!

I think you can get the Wal-Mart credit and select another item for equal amount of money. If your recieved gift with label or sticker from Wal-Mart, you certainly can get it without a receipt. However, it is better to select a more expensive gift and pay a little extra. You must be sure that your return item is still remains new.

Walmart can scan it but they cant tell if it was purchased at their store, as long as they carry the product you can return it to them up to 3 times in 45 day w out a receipt. They do this because people buy stuff on sale at a different store or even get it free w coupon then return it to walmart for full price. I watched a lady return a whole shopping cart of sodas I knew where on sale at a different store to walmart to make some money.

Yes you will get store credit. You have to be sure that the same product is sold at the store. You will be given the retail price but not the sale price.

you will probably get a gift card - at the lowest price the item has been at - if it has gone on sale

I would go today instead of Wednesday - when it will be a ZOO!
