Come on this is not an insult it is an honest question. I have been told this by people that do not believe as me but I do not feel it is ever right to tell someone unless you know for sure what they believe, and you do it in a nice way?

I do not find it compassionate. They are not God. And it is particularly ignorant if they do not even know what you believe. If they truly believe that your non-acceptance of their religion and your actions mean you are in danger of going to hell, they should think about what is truly the best way to convince you that their way is the truth, For most people a comment like that is not likely to convert them, just alienate them. It would be more likely to succeed if they tried to be an example of compassion and love, instead of talking just to feel self righteous about hearing themselves in the role of God cast you into the fiery flames.

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that I am evil. (I know, it's hard to believe that a fellow as wonderful as me could be evil, but bear with me.) You tell me that I am evil, and that because of that evil I will go to Hell. If I am honest, I will examine that statement. Perhaps I won't believe it, but I should consider it. What if it were true? If it were true, I should do whatever I could to avoid such an awful fate. If I resolve to cease being evil, and to seek repentance and righteousness, perhaps God will not cast me into Hell. If you told me all that in an attempt to provoke me to react in a positive way, you were being compassionate. Perhaps you were also being stupid or obnoxious, but you were compassionate.

because it opens the conversation that you are over stepping society's "ways of living successfully for everyone"
and as a signal you are being given the chance to rejoin the evolutionary rules built up over thousands of years, thus allowing you to live a longer and HAPPIER life. IE before you meet a truly miserable end.

It is never wrong to ask a question. You are no more evil than the rest of us but God is without sin and he loves you but cannot have sin in his presence. So because he loves us so much he had to take are sin and cast them away, That is why Jesus who was the only one that walked this earth and never sinned. So no other was able to be a sacrifice for us because we all short and have sinned in one way or another. When Jesus took our sins upon himself and died and cast them into the sea of forgetfulness and rose from the dead. He conquered death eternal for all of those that will except his sacrifice and repent of all their sins. That is all we have to do. to easy for the world to do I guess?

Because people are ignorant. It says in the bible , thou shall not judge yet people who call them selves christians and ect tell others this. Talk about hypocrites. I agree with you. !! No one can tell me where Im going but god. Plus i dont believe in hell it was made up by the churches so people would give them money. People need to learn their history !

It cant. The peace and love preached by Christians is just a PR front- when you really get to know them and see their true reality you see how little compassion and how much terrifying hate they have

If you are evil, you are on your way to hell. For me, I am just stating a fact. For some people, they probably are worried about your soul and would like to see you repent and go to Heaven. Again, I really don't care. It is up to you, GOD gave us a free will.

why would people think it is an evil question?
are you going to hell?
do you wont to go to hell?
what is hell like?
the bible tells you all about it. does that sound like a place you would wont to go? i dont wont to go there. i do believe what the bible says and if you believe that jesus is the son of God and he died for your sins then you wont go to hell. but if you dont then you will go to hell. it just that simple. take it for what it is. you have to have blind faith. believe in something you cant see. it works if you realy believe in it. but most are scared to try it.

I don't think we say "you are evil..." What we say is IF you are evil you re going to hell, and the motive is so that they won't be evil and will not go to hell. Certainly it is compasionate. If someone was walking into a building about to be blown up, which would be compasionate? Let them go in, or warn them?

If the road you are on leads to a dead end (or a bridge out) it would be nice for someone to tell you.... they are. You say they aren't being compassionate? You would rather they not tell you the bridge is out????
