Simply put- we see Jesus as completely irrelevant and failing in every way to be the Messiah. here are just a few f the issues with Jesus being the Messiah:

1) The dead were not resurrected
2) The Jews did not beome priests to the other nations
3) There is no world peace
4) The temple is not standing
5) There is no temple service
6) There is no parah adumah or its ashes to render us tahor
7) The messiah is from the House of David. your house/tribe is inherited from your father. Your father is your BIOLOGICAL father- there is no adoption in Judaisim to another father- if God is the father of Jesus- then Jesus cannot be from the House of David as God is not frm the House of David.
8) Human sacrifice is completely forbidden in Judaism- remeber God stopping the sacrifice of Isaac? The idea of a human being sacrificed is the opposite of anything from Judaism!
9) You have to atone for yourself! An essential part of the atonement process is being repentant. Someone cannot be repentant for you- you have to do it for yourself. ONly communal sins can be forgiven communally- not individual, private sins!

And no- the messiah does NOT proclaim himself- he will be recognised by his deeds- not by his claims- in other words, through doing the above he will be recognised as the messiah. On top of that- mashiach is a HUMAN being, with HUMAN parents- the idea of an anthropomorphised God going around and impregnating young woman is completely alien to Judaism- though it fits very nicely into the pagan religions of the time which had their heroes being fathered by gods (ala Hercules and his daddy Zeus)

on top of that, Christian theology has strayed very far from Judaism- just a couple of issues with Christian theology:
Christianity is totally divorced from Judaism theologically
1) The belief that God would physically manifest to produce a child is the opposite of Jewish belief
2) The belief that God is made up of different beings is the opposite of Jewish belief in the single, undivided nature of God.
3) The belief that any being could set itself up in opposition to God (i.e. the devil) is the opposite of Jewish belief in which God is the sole and only authority and author of events in the world
4) The idea of eternal damnation for people who err (Hell), is the opposite of Jewish belief in which God is loving and always forgives.
5) The idea that God would ever cancel his convenant, after explicitly stating it was eternal, and thus turning God into a liar, is the opposite of Jewish belief
6) The idea that God could ever make a mistake (i.e. that the law he gave was too difficult to follow and was thus replaced with the sacrifice of his "son") is the opposite of the Jewish belief that God is perfect and never makes mistakes.
7) The idea that God can make mistakes is also the opposite of the Jewish belief that God is eternal and across all of time (God is, God was, God will be) and thus knows rthe consequences of every action and can tus never makes mistakes or not know the result sof something he does.

The bottom line- Christianity has nothing to offer us and we will remain true to God's law handed down to Moses at Sinai.

If that's a serious question - then - Yes, they should well refuse it. Why? - because Jewish culture is very old and going far back and Jews are wiser than many by far, whether you like it or not. They knew very hard times throughout history way before christianity came about, and suffered more than you will ever know. Christianity is a relatively new religion that borrowed a lot from different old ones (a lot from Jewish old beliefs too - not to minimize christians, it's a good thing to borrow good teachings and follow them).
I know that Jews are strong in what they believe and stick together for it and that should not be ignored. And no way they must change it for new this or new and popular that, why should they, - give me one valuable reason and please don't quote the bible.
Jewish faith and traditions are ones of the strongest in history (long before bible was put together), why should they change their faith for anything else?
Did you know that Jewish race - as we know it now - are on this Earth for the second time? Try to beat that knowledge which in ingrained in them from far back! It's like first-graders (us) being in the mixed class with the second-graders and higher (them) and trying to bully one who is twice your size! Notice that THEY don't try to bully us though.
(I'm not Jewish by the way, so, don't think me biased.)

I'm curious as to why you would use the word "refuse"...here's some definitions of that word...which one applies to your usage of it?
1. to decline to accept (something offered): to refuse an award.
2. to express a determination not to (do something): to refuse to discuss the question.
3. to decline to submit to.
I have a feeling you meant in the sense of definition #3. And the answer is very simple....we don't want to. We are happy, fulfilled beyond anything you could imagine and peaceful within our hearts with our Judaism. I could ask you the same question: Why should a Christian refuse to become a Jew? How would you answer that?

Because the Torah was not "nailed to the cross" as many "Christians" teach, and the name of the Savior was YAHOSHUA, and Ex 23:13 tells us not to use Heathen names for the Almighty, and acts 4:12 tells us there is only one name that holds salvation. And of course the Law tells us to rest on the Seventh day, and certainly you would not want to dishonor, (disobey) the Almighty to join a group of apostates.

Not because of Jesus -who was a true prophet -but because of the idolatrous way he is presented in Christinity which conflicts with the whole basis of Judaism and its first commandments. So a Jew couldnt become a Christian and worship a man any more than he could start worshipping a tree or a cow

As someone once said "Christianity is the true anti-semitism because it has veiled the Jews from Jesus"

The only religion which accepts Jesus and practices monotheism is the Muslim one.

not being convinced of the arguments

having a different view of what a Christ/Messiach/Messiah is than that of Christians who see Him as God Incarnate and the Risen-from-the Dead Suffering Servant Victor over death

I presume that Jews believe in their religion as strongly and as faithfully as Christians believe in their own.

Our religion is perfectly fine for us. We don't need a new (and in our opinion, bad for us) one.

Jews believe that they were chosen. How could they turn their backs on that?

Simply because they thought Jesus was a "BAST**ED", and they still believe this ,

They may not say this in front of you , as these days USA & UK are at their service.
